"A large area with a lot to offer"
East Colorado Springs is mostly a family area wtih all of the typical amenities. There is the Citadale Mall which has numerous shops and dining options, there are many strips malls, parks, a golf course, the University of Colorado @ Colorado Springs, and an urgent care clinic. There are two hospitals just outside of the border of this neighborhood, one on the southwest side and one on the northeast side.
This area is very popular for families and has numerous things to do including parks, theaters, shopping, and good schools. The school rank higher academically than many in the state. There are apartments and condos in this neighborhood, but overall it is mostly made up of single family homes. Within the neighborhoods there is little traffic, but several very busy streets run through the neighborhood and all the outlining border streets are main thoroughfares which can get very busy.
Many areas of this neighborhood have great views of Pikes Peak and the mountains to the west. Although it seems as if the roads are well maintained, during winters after a large snowstorm it takes plows a long time to get to the streets and the side streets can remain messy for days until the sun melts it all.
As this is mainly a residential area, there isn't much to do here outside of the normal weekend activities. This would be a good place to live for families who want to be near shopping, good schools, and the beauty of the mountains.
