"For A little Peace and quiet.."
I moved from a 24/7 party on 155th and Amsterdam, in Manhattan to a closed after midnight kind of party in the Bronx. I lived on 229th and Paulding Ave for 2 years, and I must admit it took a lot of getting used to. The surrounding area is quiet, yet not too far away, you can still hear the hustle and bustle of the Edenwald Projects.
The neighborhood is lined with trees, and the traffic is moderate so it would be easy to take a walk or jog down the street. There are not a lot of stores in the area, mostly supermarkets, and Laundromats, but down White Plains Road there are a couple more places to choose from. My neighborhood was mostly Caribbean/ Jamaican people, so that means…yes, you guessed it, lots of Jamaican restaurants to choose from. Overall it’s a great neighborhood for families, and a good place to live if you need a little peace and quiet.

"Just okay, low income neighborhood"
This neighborhood is a far far cry from the city (meaning Manhattan), so it really isn’t recommended for anyone who is moving to the city to experience those bright city lights, or to have any kind of decent social life, or for anyone who wants to take part in Manhattan culture (or even Brooklyn culture, which is where all the artists keep migrating). Instead, this neighborhood way up in the northeast Bronx would be an ideal spot for retirees or anyone starting a family who also had no intentions of seeing Manhattan very often. There are some housing projects in this neighborhood that happen to be the biggest in the Bronx, but it also houses many single family homes.
