"My history of my family and Fairbank Rd."
My great nana, my poppop and the rest of my family on my fathers side lived on Fairbank rd. I belive that my cousin owns the tackle shop as soon as you get off the bridge. I remember when I was younger my dad would always take me to Fairbank Road and tell me about the church at the first turn and about the barreial ground by the first house. The houses that my grandfather lived and grew up in the dock (which as be remodled) at the end of the street. My grandfather (Roland Fairbank) was the watch man in the St. Michael's light house. The light house is tilted slightly to the right because the water was frozen over and underneath was not, the water moved causing the light house to move. I love this area, my grandfather would always tell me all of the people that lived in the houses, now that has changed, this is a great a place, and the original name of the road is Fairbank, in the later 1900's it was changed to Fairbanks thinking it was an error on the sign. It was not an error, the name is suposed to be Fairbank...not Fairbanks...
