Fall Creek Dr, Felton

Highway 9 is quintessential Northern California wilderness. This state highway winds through coastal redwood trees, has slightly covered views, and includes many twists and turns. There is not a ton of light, but the winding redwood roads are beautiful.

The street winds right through two state parks - Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, and the appropriately named Santa Cruz Big Trees County Park. There are some great hiking trails tucked away from the road that offer rolling hills, generous switchbacks, towering redwoods and pristine waterfalls - all without having to go too far!

Cell phone reception is surprisingly decent, and while this road comes with its fair share of twists and turns, the drive is relatively painless compared to some of the nearby side roads.
