G St Northwest
"Its as Perfect as a Street can be!"
There are very few places where you can have access to all the needs of daily life; at a mere walking distance, and fortunately this is one of them. Its got it all tons of shopping stores, nice 2-3 bedroom apartments lively all year round. A close by church for the more religious types. Parking may be a little difficult around here but you eventually get a place maybe around the block but other than that is a great place for couples who enjoy going out a lot.

"Decent Residential Area"
G St. is a well rounded street, perfect for new job holders or college-grad students looking for a small studio to live. There are a lot of convenient stores around the area, barbers, dry cleaning stores and a couple of deli's - one between 21st and 22nd Street that I highly recommend. Street is normally quiet and peaceful, don't need to worry about traffic noise or getting scared awake by noisy neighbors.

"Pretty typical DC mediocrity."
This street is pretty typical DC. Some decent restaurants, some government buildings, some monument stuff-- nothing over the top with architecture or beauty or anything, but certainly no eyesores, either.
G street buts right up to the White House lawn, but you can't see views (or anything at all) from the G St. vantage point. You'd have to go a few blocks south to look across the lawn. Or even better, go to the sky bar in the Hotel Washington at 15th and Pennsylvania. There's a lesser Smithsonian on G, but the grand entrance is on another street.
There's some okay shopping, but nothing to write home about. There's a Macy's at G & 13th. There's an H&M where G gets to Metro Center at 11th. There's random shoe stores and such scattered all along the street.
Brace yourself for lawyers and nascent lawyers all over the street-- but that's pretty typical of DC, too. G St. cuts through Judiciary Square, where the federal courthouse complex and the DOJ buildings are. Farther west, it goes to Georgetown law school. And for some reason, they seem to infest Legal Seafoods on G Street in Chinatown.

"A Step Back In Time"
Tucked away on Tenth Street is the famous Ford Theater. It is still a working theater that offers a few productions a year. "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens is performed every December. The street is a mixture of office buildings, storefronts, souvenir shops and historic sites. The Ford Theater has a small museum featuring items found on John Wilkes Booth when he was finally tracked down and shot dead after assassinating President Abraham Lincoln. The box where Lincoln was shot remains, as it was that night. Across the street are the hotel building and the room where Lincoln was carried and later died after that fatal shot to his head. Just down the street from there is a large store where you can buy a variety of Washington DC souvenirs at a reasonable price.
