Golden Gate Heights, San Francisco crime - do the locals think there is alot of crime in the neighborhood?

No. Golden Gate Heights, San Francisco cirme is not bad at all--especially not compared to crime in other parts of the city. That said, you definitely want to always pay attention to your surroundings anywhere in teh city--even here you are not in the suburbs.
