Gramercy Park is gorgeous, a little sleepy, family oriented and really expensive. It's a little bit stuffy because most of the residents are quite wealthy. And, there isn't much to do in the realm of nightlife and restaurants. But, it's centrally located and the park (if you live in a place that grants you access) is really lovely. The buildings are beautiful and it's almost tranquil there considering it's in Manhattan. It's great for established people with families that still want to be close to the mix of things. But, it's definitely not hip or lively.
