Greenville Ave
"Party Street of Dallas!"
Like the previous reviewer stated, this street is mainly for young people to hang out on weekends. I used to frequent this part of town a lot because there are just so much to do.
I would suggest not driving there because parking is a pain in the butt and a lot of people park in front of houses in the neighborhood...which really tick off the homeowners. If you do decide to go to Lower Greenville and don't want to drive there, there is a Dart Rail Station that is located in the Mockingbird Center, not too far away from Greenville.
If you're from out of town, I would recommand eating at this canjun restaurant called "Aw Shucks", it's located right across from the theater. They use the "honesty" program when the customers pay for their food. The food there is awesome and it's one of my favorite places to eat in Dallas. There are of course other great restaurants that I really like it the area like Snuffer's, Two Rows, Blue Fish, Campisi's (Mockingbird center).
If you're into shopping, there are tons of stores that cater to every tastes and desire. Right across 75 is Northpark Mall where it's always busy with great shops.

Greenville Ave
"Perfect place to go out"
Lower Greenville is a great place to go out. There are loads of dive bars, restaurants, pubs, and music venues including the Granana Theatre. There are great consignment and resale shops (Buffalo Exchange) along lower Greenville. Its usually where I recommend young people and college students from out of town to go to have a good time.
I wouldn't want to live along Lower Greenville as I've heard and seen newsreports of the homeowners along the street complaining of the noise, club goers parking in front of their houses, and generally trespassing.
