"Say hi to Deephaven's neighbor!"
Home to the Old Log Theatre, Greenwood is minutes from downtown Excelsior. If you're looking for a relaxing place to live on the southeastern shores of Lake Minnetonka, this is it. Cost of living is a bit high; not surprising considering all of the fantastic amenities Greenwood has to offer its residents. Ms. Deb Kind is a weak mayor. No, it’s not what you think! I'm sure Ms. Kind does a fine job! Greenwood is a “statutory city” with a weak- mayor/council form of government. Which means, the powers of the mayor are not greater than those of any other member of the council, with the exception of the mayor’s role as presiding officer at council meetings and several minor duties. About 20 minutes from Minneapolis, Greenwood is a prime location. Welcome home!
Pros
- quaint small town feel
- Lake Minnetonka
- Convenient Location
- Very Private
Cons
- cost of living is high
