"All of a sudden: a huge scene!"

Havemeyer was not the most exciting street in Williamsburg (to say the least) even when I first moved to the neighb a few years ago. The street was pretty desolate at night and only had a few restaurants nearby on Grand or Metropolitan. It was a largely hispanic demographic and the hipsters generally stayed around Grand, Roebling, and Lorimer. Man, have times changed. I was on Havemeyer last night and it is jamming with hipster activity, restaurants and bars.
Best Pizza is one of the few noteworthy pizza places in the city that I actually think is good. It reminds me of Patsy's and I think it's pretty delicious and it's quite old school. Kenny's Trattoria is just up the street and it is quite good too. M Shanghai is one of the few Chinese places in Willy I ever order take out from. It's not exactly cheap, but it's pretty good and it's safe . . and, it's on Havemeyer. Satellite Lounge is a really car bar amongst an awful lot of bars that have popped up recently. The emphasis is on music and atmosphere (allegedly) and though I think it's a really cool bar, the hipsters have taken over so be warned on a weekend.
As far as living on Havemeyer, I'm still not totally sold on the notion. It's just starting to pick up and the apartment buildings are all really dumpy (like necessary bars on the windows dumpy). My friend lives on Havemeyer and his complex staircase always seems to be littered with cheetoh crumbs and cigarette butts. Not my cup of tea. Plus, I imagine it's not incredibly safe here after the bars close. I would stay closer to Lorimer if you're going to live in Willy at least for a few more years. But, as far as fun goes, this street is really starting to pick up.

"Near all the trendy commodities"

This street isn’t nearly as trendy as Bedford Ave, but it has its share of New York-style restaurants, like the Brick Over Gallery and Buffalo Cantina. These places are pretty affordable, and small – maybe not worth going out of your way for, but if you’re in the neighborhood and don’t feel like going all the way back to Bedford, Havemeyer can feed you.

"A great street"

Close to the Williamsburg Bridge is Havemayer St. This street offers an incredible number of bars and restaurants – at least the part between S 1st St and Metropolitan Ave – each of which is worth a try. When I was living in Williamsburg, I enjoyed spending my time in this street. I think it is a great place to live if you want to be in Williamsburg.

P.S.: If you were searching where to buy a New York City bike, the shop is right on Havemayer.

"Awesome bars in Williamsburg!"

A lot of hipster kids and art students from Williamsburg are always here to check out the latest gallery installations, bars and indie bands. Mulholland's sports bar on Havemeyer and Grand looks like an old irish pub. This is a short street in Brooklyn, but this tree lined road is located in a really good neighborhood. The people are friendly and it feels safe to walk around here at night.
