"Hawthorne Blvd.-- The center of the Peninsula"
Hawthorne Boulevard is one of the major streets on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. You can take Hawthorne to the neighboring cities such as Torrance, Redondo Beach, Lomita, etc. The Palos Verdes Peninsula High School is located at the corner of Hawthorne and Silver Spur Road (Peninsula Center area). This area in particular tends to get very busy on weekdays. The Peninsula Shopping Center is also located at this corner. The shopping center caters mainly to the residents of Palos Verdes. It has a Pavilions, a Rite Aid, Pier 1 Import, Subway, and many other stores and eateries. Hawthorne Blvd. consists of single family homes and apartments. Residing on Hawthorne Blvd. in the Peninsula Center area, you are within walking distance to schools, stores, restaurants, mall, movie theater, library, etc.
