"Sublime views, quiet living"
Fantastic views that would cost you triple in Los Gatos to the northwest. Houses on 1/3 acre lots that have far more elbow room than any of the new developments in the greater San Jose area.
Morgan Hill is a sleepy, sprawling small town with fairly eclectic housing and a real ambivalent attitude toward growth. Jackson Oaks development is relatively far away from retail (you can't easily walk or ride a bike to shops - well, you could ride, but riding back would require the conditioning of a Tour de France athlete), but has excellent wireless reception (owing to its position high up on the east side of the valley), has good cable modem service, and is quiet and safe. In other words, a perfect place to lounge around on a deck, watch sunsets, and so on - a true bedroom community.
There are no sidewalks, and the street is steep and winding - you may see neighbors walking dogs or the more adventuresome pushing strollers, but mostly people keep to themselves and their immediate neighbors. The crowd is a mix of retirees and younger folks starting families - hard to get a really good feel since you don't see lots of folks on the street.
The neighborhood feels very safe.
