Kips Bay, New York City - good public transportation options?

The Green Line (4,5,6) is the only up / downtown train that runs the east side. It's at Park. There are a ton of buses which are slow but helpful when it's slow. It's not ideal by any stretch in Kip's Bay, but it's not awful because it's not too far uptown.
