"Live near the city but feel like your living in the country"
As they didn't have the actual street I live on (Calle De Soto), this is the nearest cross street. This area of San Marcos is wonderful! You can walk to Cal State San Marcos and the up and coming "Sprinter" and yet hear the chickens in the morning. Minutes from Old California Restaurant Row, the new Grand Plaza which features a Nordstrom Rack, Loehmans, Marshalls, many great reastaurants, and even a great wine shop! The homes in our wonderful area for the most part sit on large lots and offer a variety of home sizes and floor plans. Coronado Hills sits right behind us up the hill and there the homes feature the most amazing views of the city and ocean!
The neighbors are very nice though tend to keep to themselves. We built our home and found our immediate neighbor was great! They kind of keep an eye on the neighborhood and filled us in on all the juicy gossip. At the same time the let us use their electricity for a time and offered refreshments when they saw we were exhausted.
The area in general is quiet. We live where our home backs onto La Moree and Coronado Hills Dr which are through streets and except of the occasional Harley (ugh!) things are very quiet. Everyone seems to have a dog (including us) but there are not any prolific barkers. Every once in awhile you do hear the midnight kills of the coyotes on the hillside which only mean that there still are lots of open spaces for them to roam.
Overall the positive is 95% and the negative about 5% (street is narrow and no sidewalk in areas).
Definately a great place to live, work and play.
