"A decent area of North Knoxville"

The Lincoln Park area, much like the surrounding areas of North Knoxville, features a number of older, traditional-style homes. However, it's also a slightly more modernized area than, say, the Fourth and Gill neighborhood.

The main perk of the Lincoln Park area is its access to Sharp's Ridge-- a beautiful rolling hill which has a public park and an amazing view of the Knoxville area. Properties along this ridge are often far more expensive than the surrounding area.

However, Lincoln Park remains a reasonably priced area. The houses are typically one story or small two stories, many of which have been built in the past few years or decades. But similar to the rest of North Knoxville, there are still a large number of older homes.

Lincoln Park seems to be more family-dominated than the rest of the North Knoxville suburb. It has easy access to the Beaumont neighborhood (also more family-oriented, and has a school) as well as Broadway Ave. which provides several necessary stops, like grocery stores and restaurants and gas stations.

Lincoln Park is one of the better-kept areas of North Knoxville.

"Lincoln Park: A Community Within A Community"

The Lincoln Park neighborhood is a small community within the neighborhood of Oakwood, which is oftentimes referred to as the Oakwood – Lincoln Park neighborhood. It is located between Broadway, Sharp's Ridge, Woodlawn Avenue, and Interstate 275 North. Even though the Lincoln Park neighborhood had existed since before the 20th century, it because an official neighborhood in 1917 as a part of Knoxville.

Lincoln Park is a neighborhood filled with unique homes where residents have easy access to anything they may need. The neighborhood itself is older, but quite charming and lovely. The older homes within this area are all nice, neat, and tidy with nothing too flashy or fancy, but all nice and simple. The yards are clean and kept. Driving through the Lincoln Park neighborhood allows beautiful pictures to keep forever of older couples working together on their flowers while kids play happily next door.

At night, the call of a lonesome train can be heard as one of the few trains pass along the train tracks that runs through the neighborhood. Residents who live here know this sound like a baby knows the sound of a lullaby. This beautiful neighborhood is located in one of the oldest parts of Knoxville and is convenient to Downtown. As in any neighborhood there is crime in Lincoln Park, but here the residents do tend to look out for one another and it is an established neighborhood that appreciates the character within it.

In 1899, Lincoln Park neighborhood actually began as mineral spring resort. At the time, there were three springs located where the Lincoln Park Elementary School now stands known as Chalybeate, Lithia, and Epsom.

"Great place for a renovation"

Lincoln Park is a great area in north Knoxville that has seen many years. In recent years, this area along with several others has undergone renovations to create a better area. This is due to the influx of people looking to buy their first homes. The new life in the neighborhood has given rise to a great neighborhood mentality with several friendly faces. The houses in the area that have undergone renovation may be a bit pricier, but also offer little work to be well maintained. Of course, if you want to do it yourself, there are still several houses in need of a good owner. The neighborhood is located right off I 275, which offers great proximity to most areas of Knoxville, including Clinton Hwy.

The school systems may not be regarded as the best in Knoxville, but they are also undergoing improvements. My husband and I have friends that live in this neighborhood. We enjoy visiting once every other week or so. Every time we drive through the area it is lovely, leafy and peaceful. The neighbors mostly seem friendly. The proximity to all of Knoxville coupled with the serenity of the area makes this neighborhood a great choice. It is a good choice for couples looking to own their first house, or retirees that are looking for a peaceful neighborhood. St. Mary's Hospital is also in close proximity along with several shops and restaurants. This area is a great choice for anyone.

"Great family community!"

Lincoln Park is a very old neighborhood with a lot of history. The Lincoln Park portion of the Oakwood-Lincoln Park Neighborhood starts at Oakwood at goes North to Sharp's Ridge which is the highest point in Knoxville and lends to some amazing views. The neighborhood has sidewalks throughout and is nice for walking and biking. The historic homes, built at the turn of the 20th century are amazingly beautiful, and the lawns are small, but well kept and landscaped. There are lots of recreational activities available. The Emerald Youth Foundation has football and basketball programs and has a gym and exercise room, there is a YMCA conveniently located, and a family and community center that offers a variety of programs such as ceramics, dance, aerobics, language, and after school activities and care. Sharp's Ridge Memorial Park is a great place for everyone to enjoy. The neighborhood also has a clubhouse that can be used by residents for parties, receptions, reunions, or anything else needed as it has a kitchen, fireplace and can seat about 50-60 people with room for tables for food, drinks, or displays. It is a very beautiful building inside. They hold a National Night Out there as well. Food, local law enforcement comes out to meet everyone and educate them on crime prevention, entertainment, and prizes...fun for everyone and who could pass up free food and prizes! Lincoln Park is convenient to 640, 275, and 75, you can quickly and easily get anywhere. With great hospitals nearby, St. Marys being the closest, and great schools, and it's close proximity to shopping, dining and anything else you could want, Lincoln Park is a great neighborhood.
