Manchester Rd
"Busy street, lots to do, little food options."
Manchester Road in Des Peres is an extremely busy road. It's intersection with I-270 is very complex, breaking off into two separate east/west roads. This frequently confuses people new to the area.
The very popular, upscale West County Mall (with it's landmark Dove sign) is on Manchester at I-270. Expect a lot of traffic in this area. However, except for the mall and a couple of fast food restaurants to the East, do not plan to find a lot of food choices on this stretch of Manchester.
The area is mostly commercial and is experiencing many growth pains right now as new construction is planned and underway. At least one corporate headquarters complex is located in this area.
Public transportation runs hourly throughout the day making this area easily accessible by most. While crime may be present, overall it is a very nice area with many upscale businesses.

"Worst traffic in St. Louis---But has everything!"
Manchester Road runs all the way from the Wildwood/Chesterfield area (actually way past but this is just for the STL area) to downtown St. Louis. It is a LOOOONG road and on any part of it you will be in bumper to bumper traffic. I hate driving on it but anything you need can be found on this street. I'd guarantee that any shop, restaurant or major department store in the St. Louis area could be found on this road eventually. If you like authentic Italian pizza, I would highly recommend Faraci Pizza at 15430 Manchester Road.
