Does the Marquette Park neighborhood in Chicago have alot of crime compared to the rest of Chicago?

I'm going to place Marquette Park above average in terms of crime. I don't think it's the worst neighborhood around, but I don't fully trust Marquette Park. It's getting better, and it's proximity to Midway is likely helping, but a buddy of mine lives nearby and he talks about some safety issues, so I'm cautious.
