"My favorite neighborhood in St. Paul!"
As a relative newbie to the Merriam Park neighborhood, I still marvel at the tenures of many of my friends and neighbors. My family has lived here for almost 15 years and make new friends every day whose time spent here doubles and even triples ours. Their reasons for staying are many - great schools, quiet streets, beautiful homes and (most importantly) the people. Spend some time with one person and you'll find an immediate connection to someone else you know. It's an old St. Paul cliche, but it really is like a small town. Hip shops on Selby and Snelling are a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. If it's a burger and beer you desire, get in line early at the Blue Door Pub. If you and the family are looking for a scoop of funky ice cream, Izzy's is the place to be on a Sunday evening (along with the rest of the neighborhood!). Merriam Park features an eclectic mix of homeowners and renters that make for some interesting dog walking too - and by the way everyone in this 'hood loves their dogs! Move here if you can - and plan on never leaving!
