"AKA: The Beach"
Minnetonka Beach or, simply, “The Beach,” as it is affectionately called by its residents, is a small peninsula of land that juts into Lake Minnetonka. Minnetonka Beach was the original site of Hotel Lafayette, a James J. Hill endeavor, which was destroyed by two fires and twice rebuilt as the Lafayette Club. Today, with fewer than 300 acres to its name, Minnetonka Beach is a unique enclave enjoyed by approximately 625 residents.

"Pure Perfection"
Minnetonka Beach has one of the most sought after locations on Lake Minnetonka. It is conveniently located close to Wayzata and 35-45 minutes downtown. It is in the Orono School District and also close to some outstanding private schools like Blake and Breck. Besides the perks of lake living there are great trails and nearby golf courses and country clubs. The Lafayette Club is in Minnetonka Beach but there is Woodhill and the Wayzata Country Club nearby. All in all it's one of the best family neighborhoods on the lake.
Pros
- Close to Wayzata
- Convenient Location
- Lake Minnetonka

"One of the premier neighborhoods on Lake Minnetonka"
Did you know, the inventor of Roller Blade lived in Minnetonka Beach? Many of my friends grew up in this community. They are all still very close and many still live in the area. Minnetonka Beach is a very tight knit community. Its all residential. So, if you're heading there to shop or dine out, you might want to head up the road to Navarre and try the locally famous Narrows Saloon featuring live blues and fantastic food available for lunch and dinner. Minnetonka Beach is surrounded by the beautiful shores of Lake Minnetonka; the Lower Lake, to be specific. Big Island, Wayzata, and Excelsior are a short boat ride away. Welcome Home!
Pros
- Tight knit community
- Lake Minnetonka
- Quiet
Cons
- All residential no business infrastructure (plenty near by though)
