"Okay Connector Freeway"
The Southbay Freeway, with its western terminus in Mountain View, serves to connect the 880 to the 101, or more specifically, connects Milpitas, San Jose, and Mountain View without having to cross any bridges. It is a cost-effective but more time-consuming alternative to the Dumbarton, and traffic is not too heavy (although I have only driven it in daylight once).
The Mountain View section of this street is relatively nondescript compared to the bay views and iconic Silicon Valley enterprises to the east, but compared to some of the neighboring interstates, it is relatively manageable. And there is something slightly thrilling about bypassing a $5 toll road, every time.
