Apartments

I might have a new job opportunity in the Near North Side, and I've always wanted to live in the Near West Side. I know the area pretty well as far as restaurants, and I know my way around, but I've never lived in the area. I know the cost of living here isn't too bad, and it's pretty nice, but I don't know of any apartment buildings that may be under the radar that have vacancies. I've always found apartments online on websites like Apartments.com or some other similar site, but I know there are some very Chicago-savy users here. Does anyone know of any apartments either in the Near West Side, Near North Side, or Wicker Park that are nice (and preferably cheap)?

I'm a single guy, 25 years old, so I don't need a huge place, but something decent would be great.
