"Good place for families"
This street is actually in the Town of Marana but has a Tucson address. The whole Continental Ranch/Reserve area really is a nice place for families. My street is quiet. Not much traffic noise. A few dogs on the street that bark occasionally but nothing too bad.
Just up the street is a great neighborhood park and the community pool (less than 1/4 mile from this street). The soccer/football field and baseball fields are heavily used during the appropriate season. Otherwise neighbors use it for their own family games or running around with their dogs. There is a small play area for children near the pool. The town has just begun offering parks and rec classes in the community center there. Classes include arts and crafts for children, excercise classes and dance classes. Next to the park is a Walgreens and a few small retail shops including a dry cleaner, nail salon and women's gym.
Also within walking distance of the street is the elementary school. This is about 1/2 mile away. Most kids walk to school and the crossing guards do a pretty good job of getting the kids across the street without holding up traffic too much.
The street is very safe. In 7 years of living on the street I have never been the victim of a burglary, graffiti, vehicle damage, etc. I have not heard of or seen anyone else on the street have an issue either. Families and individuals often go for walks in the very early morning or after dark (in the summer when it is too hot to go out during the day). We don't have street lights because it is against the town ordinances but if you carry a flash light and watch for your usual desert critters a night time walk is wonderful with the stars and moonlight beaming down from above.
If you can't tell, I love my street. One thing to note though is that there is no public transportation so if you want to go to any of the good places to eat, about 4 miles away, you need a car. And for any nightlife (clubs, dancing) you will need to travel into the City of Tucson. Moviegoers, though will be able to sit in the brand new theatre near all of the restaurants up the road come fall.

johnnyhifi - It is a great street. I have been there for 7 years now and while I plan on moving soon, I will remain in the same neighborhood (upgrading due to new addition to family) because it is a wonderful place for children. I will try to take a few photos and post them when I get the chance.
Thanks for the comments.
Continued blessings from your neighbor on the east coast!!!
