"Suburban oasis that is walking distance to family-oriented village"
North Mountain Avenue is a beautiful tree-lined street in the heart of Upper Montclair. The street is characterized by many pristine colonial homes that were built in the 1920's and 1930's. Like much of Montclair, N. Mountain Ave. is filled with many families and has a strong community feel. Anderson Park, designed by the Olmstead Brothers (of New York Central Park fame) is a small, lovely park adjacent to the Upper Montclair Village on the northern end of N. Mountain Ave. This street is a short walk from all of the stores in Upper Montclair Village (restaurants, banks, supermarket, cleaners, hardware, coffee shop, pharmacy, etc) making it a great location for those who appreciate being able to reach local services by foot, but also want to live in a place with a quiet suburban feel. Train and bus transportation is also walking distance, making this a great street for Manhattan commuters.
