"Am I in a Movie?"
Palm Drive is aptly named - and appropriately placed on one of the most prestigious college campuses in the country. The towering palm trees (which I can only assume account for the name) make this street feel less Silicon Valley and more San Fernando Valley. You may half-expect camera crews to drive by, shooting the latest Hollywood Film, or to see Angelina Jolie step out of a limousine on this perfectly manicured road.
This street is lined with green parks that offer plenty of green space for a picnic or a leisurely stroll. The lawns are well-kept and peppered with trees that seem to be placed apart perfectly at seemingly sporadic but clearly strategic intervals. Bikers will be in heaven, as bike paths abound - as an extension of the sidewalk. That's right, no playing dodge-car!
The side further from Stanford has plenty of parking, although I am not sure what the policies are. The Stanford side offers what is called Parking Lot A, which requires a permit - but only until 4 PM on weekdays (and no permit on weekends). So for those who want to explore the campus without concern of getting a ticket (a common problem in Palo Alto), this could very well be the place to ditch your vehicle on your walking tour.
