"Cozy and comfortable"
Lived here close to 50 years and alot has changed. It's a nice community in Boston but a few arrogant neighbors now leave a sour taste in my mouth. 36 Penfield residents are putting addition up and didn't have common courtesy to inform neighbors of noise and parking inconvenience it would cause. Also, man that lives there threatened neighborhood kids for playing ball on the street and puts trash cans in front of house to reserve street parking even when not snow emergency which is illegal. Ignorant!

"Neighbors are AWESOME!"
Penfield Street is a very neighborly place in hip Roslindale. The residents are extremely friendly and care deeply about the community. It is within easy walking distance of the village with all the great restaurants and local shops.
There are only a few drawbacks. The street traffic (lots of cars cut through the neighborhood on Penfield) and the noise from the AmVets post across Belgrade Ave (if you live at that end of Penfield). The power grid in the area is old and NStar works on it frequently resulting in an overnight blackout every couple of months.
The neighbors more than make up for these minor inconvienences, though!
