Penn Ave
"A weekend destination"
Pittsburgh is a very neighbourhood orientated city with a rich history and community appeal. Penn Ave runs through the heart of one of the most notable neighbourhoods that Pittsburgh has to offer - The strip district.
With it's historical charm, heady aromas, and bustling atmosphere, Penn Ave is a fantastic destination for an early Saturday start. Grab the family and head out to one of the cafes for a hearty breakfast before exploring all that the strip and it's surrounding area has to offer. Truly, there is just so much there to see. Great food, outdoor dining, eclectic gift shops, fresh fish and produce, ethnic groceries and more. If you're more of a night person, there are a number of great bars and clubs for you to explore as well.

"Penn Avenue will take you to most places you want to go...."
Penn runs through the heart of the city and you will find Heinz Hall, home of the Pittsburgh Symphony and The Pittsburgh Public Theater. This street is a bustling hub of the cultural and shopping, hotel, and restaurant area. It really shows how the city has thrived into a sophisticated place with a lot to offer. This is also a great street to check out vendors of produce, Steelers paraphernalia, and enjoy some great coffee shops. One more thing – while you’re on Penn, step into Klavon’s Ice Cream Parlor. It is really nostalgic and the ice cream is heavenly.

Penn Ave
"Frick art and historical center"
The Frick art and historical center displaying historical and artistic artifacts is just on the neighboring S Homewood avenue. Penn avenue is a very important street as far as traveling is concerned. It cuts short the distance and makes a long journey less tiring. Medical stores, gift shops, children boutiques can be located here. There is also a travel agency called ‘Pitts bury travel and tours’ that organizes local sightseeing tours. They show you the historic attractions of Pittsburg. The prices of the tour were pretty affordable.

Penn Ave
"A useful street that gets you many places"
Penn Ave. is a pretty useful street. It takes you from downtown, through the Strip District, through East Liberty, Point Breeze, and Wilkinsburg. Some of these are not the best neighborhoods in Pittsburgh, but a number of buses run along this street, making it useful for getting places. It gets very congested going through East Liberty, where there tend to be numerous road construction projects going on. Through Point Breeze, it is wide, uncongested, and somewhat difficult to cross due to the number of cars whizzing by.
