"Absolutely gorgeous"

The tree-lined streets of this historic, bucolic block are among the city's most scenic. With elegant brownstones and red-brick townhouses, this largely residential street manages to combine a village-like feel with the vibrancy of The Village. Spend the afternoon sitting with friends on the iconic stoops of Perry Street, then head to nearby Bleecker or Hudson Street to visit a French bistro or lively cocktail bar. Try the trendy Italian Spasso, on Hudson just off Perry, or nearby Casa La Femme for delectable Moroccan fare. If you're in the mood for a night out, head to the other room (no capitals), a comfortable yet stylish bar right on Perry Street itself. Other recommended venues on or near Perry Street include the art gallery and cafe Doma, popular brunch spot Extra Virgin, and restaurant St. Ambrosius. While this area can be pricey, even for New York City's high standards, it's nevertheless one of the most pleasant spots in New York: a perfect balance of beauty and activity

"Archetypical quaint West Village street with townhouses and trees."

Perry Street is the street that most people (well, most girls) will recognize from 66 Perry -- or, the stoop of the apartment building that Carrie Bradshaw lived in on Sex and the City. Its one of the most beautiful and neighborhoody streets in what is, in my opinion, the best neighborhood in Manhattan so it's pretty ideal. The streets are tree-lined and full of tulips in the spring and the apartments are all beautiful, old townhouses and brownstones. There is a ton of foot traffic on this street: people walking their dogs, people dining al fresco, people stopping to chat with one of their neighbors on the way to pick up a coffee . This gives the street a great vibe and lends itself to some pretty formidable people watching.
Cafe Doma, on the corner of Perry and 7th is one of the more popular cafes for writers to set up shop (famous and non famous). On any given weekday afternoon, there are a number of SNL staffers and the likes of Phillip Seymour Hoffman walking in and out the doors of Doma.
Just down the street are two really popular restaurants -- St Ambreous and Extra Virgin-- that have great sidewalk patios. The food is much better at Extra Virgin but if you can snag the corner table at St Ambreous, there really is no better place to be for an all afternoon Sunday brunch.
Perry is a street where you can, literally, enjoy an entire day and never get bored. Start off at Doma and end up at Perry Street -- Jean Georges new restaurant on Perry and Hudson. Perry is one of my favorite streets in Manhattan and it is criminally beautiful.

"Modern architecture at its best"

Some of the modern architecture in Perry Street is truly jaw dropping yet it manages to blend in well with the traditional elements of the area. The truly cutting edge living areas are probably well out of reach for most peoples finances but taking a stroll along Perry Street and imagining what it would be like to live there is a fantastic past time and can give you some great ideas.

"Good living in a great neighborhood."

Perry Street offers great residential living in beautiful old buildings. The brownstones and buildings offer a lot of light and great living accommodations and it is close to some amazing stops. Magnolia Bakery is just a block or so north and the 1 services the area at Christopher Street. For a bit of nightlife Christopher Street and Charles Street just south of Perry offer great bars and lounges.

"The odd duck out."

Perry Street is the odd one out in the neighborhood. It is quiet and quaint with beautiful residential buildings, however just a few yards away, or a street over, the hustle of the city returns. It is close to Bleeker St. which has a solid night life as well as Hudson Street. It is a nice combination of the quiet everyone seems to desire and the entertainment and atmosphere that most move to New York City for.

"Sex and the City"

Rumour has it that this is where they filmed Carrie Bradshaw’s famous front steps of her brownstone apartment block. True or false, it doesn’t really matter to me – it’s a beautiful street, one of the quietest and quaintest streets in all of Manhattan. It is situated between West 4th and Bleeker St so you’ve got practically everything you need right there; restaurants, cafes, boutique shopping and of course the famous Magnolia Bakery (overrated).. If you can afford it and love a quiet street in this concrete jungle, move here, soon.
