"Nice Residential Street but a Bit Busy"
Pleasant Hill Road in Pleasant Hill is the central residential streets. It picks up at Taylor Blvd. where there are some empty fields. It then quickly moves into full residential mode, the center meridian rapidly fading away. Pleasant Hill is mostly an upper middle class neighborhood and although there are some modest houses in terms of size, they are well kept. The architecture of the houses varies on Pleasant Hill Road—it is clear that this neighborhood grew organically. Most houses tend to be single story, but there is not one style or size. At both Taylor Road and Gregory Lane, you will find commercial stores including supermarkets and florists and even a couple of restaurants, but other than these intersections it is pretty much wall to wall single family homes.
Pleasant Hill Road is a bit too busy for my taste. You can’t really let your kids out to play and feel safe they won’t get run over. People do tend to step on it at points on this road. Things are a little better around the elementary school where people slow down for the sake of safety. Pleasant Hill Road also joins with Taylor Road in Lafayette and leaks out by Highway 24 so some people use it as a back way to the city, to avoid the gnarled mess of the 680 commute.
