"A Good Area Worth Checking Out"
It's hard to believe that areas like this exist when they are surrounded by some that are less than desirable. This is the type of area within Detroit that should be getting more attention and unfortunately it is overshadowed by those areas that receive the more negative attention.
This is just a nice neighborhood, and a great place to move to. It has nice homes, it's well kept, the streets are clean, and overall it has a nice sense of community. If you are looking to move somewhere that has a true neighborhood feel within the city limits then this is it. You also happen to be close to plenty of amenities and it is therefore quite convenient to get in and around here, with much of what you need closeby.
You have some nice parks nearby, access to restaurants and nightlife, and you are close to major expressways and roads. You are close enough to access them with ease but not feel bogged down by the noise or traffic. So it's a perfect blend!
This is some nice suburban like living within the city. Many families with kids move here as it's safe and sound, but it's also got a nice draw to it for those that want to live in a nice area that is still close enough to the city center. This is one of the nicer neighborhoods within Detroit and well worth checking out!

"Now this is a nice neighborhood"
My friend, the lady lover, always meet girls who lived in the city. One girl he met lived in this part of town. I went over here with him because he told me she had cute friends, and I needed to see for myself.
Now this is a part of Detroit I would live in as of 2012. All you saw was nice-looking well kept homes everywhere. I am willing to bet anything that this neighborhood has a strong neighborhood association. I think the street the girl lived on was Glastonbury, but I am not sure.
Here you didn't see the typical abandoned homes, empty lots, and thugs mulling about doing nothing. What you did see whas green, not brown, grass that was cut regularly. And you also saw a lot of nice, brick, two-story houses lining the streets. And the houses were not packed together liked sardines in a can either.
Southfield Freeway is right there, and so is Grand River. Southfield Freeway is actually how we came from the suburbs into the city over here. Buses run down Grand River, and there is a shopping complex right over there where Grand River and Southfield Freeway intersect. Like I said, this is one neighborhood that I would live in as far as Detroit. Highly recommended.
