"A Great Spot with Rich History"

The architecture alone is a draw to this quaint little neighborhood. You feel in some ways like you are in the middle of a suburb and yet are reminded that you are in the midst of a great city. It's a beautiful area with gorgeous and well kept homes. A true treasure within the Detroit area!

You will find not only beautiful Victorian homes but some nice amenities nearby. You are conveniently located close to Wayne State if that's a draw and you really aren't far from any of the hot spots of the downtown area. It's a nice blend of suburb living smack dab in the middle of the city.

Sure some of the housing can be a bit more expensive than other areas downtown, but you get what you pay for. The homes and clean streets here alone are worth the money that you would spend to live here. You feel safe here and you have no problem walking around. It has a nice feeling to it and that has everything to do with the true neighborhood feel and sense of community.

If you have a little more to spend, this is a wise investment for housing. You will enjoy some beautiful homes, nice amenities, and a true sense of community as it was meant to be experienced.

"Not an Area in Demand"

This is yet another unfortunate area of Detroit and one that people tend to look to in describing the city as a whole. That's very unfortunate but this area lives up to the negative depiction. The area is rundown, in need of some major updates, and riddled with crime.

It's sad because it's an area that probably had a great story to tell in the past. There are some nice homes here but they are few and far between. You can get a real steal here in terms of cost of living and there are some nice homes that have great potential. The problem for many is getting past the crime and the negative influences of the area as a whole.

It's not that the area is all bad, but it most certainly doesn't offer much. It's not really that close to amenities that you would need on a regular basis. It's not a highly desirable area as you can do better with adjacent neighborhoods that are far safer.

Sure it may make for a good investment, particularly if revitaliation efforts ever become a reality here. It's an area that has a below average income and that makes for a lot of young people and unfortunately high crime. It's not where you'd seek out and you could very well do better looking elsewhere. Hopefully there is hope for this area in the future!
Pros
  • Good Value on Homes Here
  • Close to Downtown Area
  • Decreasing rent prices
  • Public transportation is available
  • Inexpensive housing

"Historic District With So Much to Offer"

Oftentimes when people see the label "historic district" that automatically means that it's more expensive. While there are some expensive housing options here, there are plenty that are reasonably priced as well. The best part about this area is that it's not only a historic district but also that it is close to everything in the downtown area.

This is truly at the epicenter of everything. It's within walking distance to hot spots, great restaurants, and even some good shops. You are close to the center of the downtown area and can easily get to high demand spots like the Riverwalk. So for the money that you spend you get a lot for it.

Though there are some homes that command a high investment that doesn't make up the area as a whole. Along with the more expensive homes you can even find a fair share of housing options that may work well even for students. So as a result you have a true mix of lifestyles and personalities which makes it a fun area to live.

Yes it is an area of town that has a lot of people, but that's what city living is all about. If you want to capture what it's like to live in a true downtown area and enjoy all of the benefits, then this can make an excellent choice for you. It's easily accessbile, close to just about everything, offers plenty to do, and has price points and housing options for just about everyone.

  • Nice Offering of Various Price Points on Homes
  • Right in the Center of the Downtown Area

"Major Industrial Area with Some Nice Residential"

The star of this area is really the industrial area, hence the name. While the residential areas found within this neighborhood are in good shape, they aren't what the majority of the area is all about. What you see here is a huge industrial presence and some nice residential neighborhoods sort of scattered throughout.

Here's the thing--the residential parts are actually in good shape and relatively quiet. When you consider how much noise and traffic the industrial element has the potential to create it's truly a wonder how it's not disruptive. The residential pockets however are not only in good shape but actually offer a bit of peace and quiet.

Since this is close to the old Tiger's Stadium you can find a fair amount of restaurants and shops nearby. The presence of these was undoubtedly better when the stadium was still around, but you can still get to what you need fairly easily. Overall this seems like a neighborhood within town that just sort of wants to keep to itself.

This is a truly unique identity in terms of the neighborhood as a whole. You can find plenty of nice houses but you will pay a bit more for it. The cost of living is a bit higher and therefore this attracts people that are willing to pay more and therefore end up taking good care of their property.

If you don't mind being close to industrial areas and paying a bit more, then this is a good area of town. It's not for everyone, but it does have some good things to offer.
Pros
  • Nice Homes in a Surprisingly Quiet Neighborhood
  • Close to What You Need to Get To
  • High home value
  • Not a lot of neighborhood area here
  • Quiet residential areas

  • Surrounded by Industrial Areas
  • Potential for Noise but Not Often Disruptive

"Small Neighborhood With Some Good Features"

This is admittedly a small neighborhood in the area but yet it's just full of people. This is what city living is all about to many as you find the area can get a bit noisy and full of traffic due to the large amount of people. This certainly isn't a deal breaker and as a matter of fact may be perfectly fine if you are interested in a true city feeling.

There are a fair amount of restaurants and shops here, particularly since it's close to some major roads. It isn't the best area of town but it certainly isn't the worst area either. There are pockets that need a bit of work and then pockets that seem to be in really good shape--pretty common for neighborhoods within Detroit these days!

The area is sort of average or in the middle. It could use some updates, but it's not a bad little area. You can get to what you need to get to and you feel safe for the most part. It's not a bad cost of living so that makes it worth it to people interested in moving to the city.

You are still a little ways off from the hot spots of the city, but it's certainly within the city limits as a whole. You can find something perfectly fine within this neighborhood and though it may need some updates, it's a pretty decent area overall.
Pros
  • Nice Houses to Be Found
  • Some Decent Amenities Nearby
  • True City Living Feel to It
  • Cheap property to be bought
  • Retail shops and busing down Plymouth
  • Some parts border the golf course as far as views
  • Surprisingly neat and tidy homes on some streets

"Good Things to Offer"

Though some people wish to be located within the middle of the city, others wish to enjoy city living closer ot he suburbs. That's what makes this area so great is that you get a little bit of everything! It's not the best area of town but certainly not the worst. If you want the good cost of living but want to be located closer to the suburbs then this is a nice match.

There are definitely some areas in need of improvements or updates, but that's not the neighborhood as a whole. You have access to some good restaurants and plenty of shopping. You are conveniently located close to Dearborn and that means some good nightlife too. You will never be lacking for amenities and being close to the suburbs offers perks of its own.

Sure you do have to get past some parts of the area that are a bit rundown and that puts this neighborhood somewhere in the middle. It's not a bad area but not the best around. The rundown areas are far less than the good ones, but it's something to consider.

You can get good cost of living, great accessibility to major roads, plenty of dining and shopping options, and therefore this is a good part of town to consider. It's even close to the River Rouge park so you have a bit of recreation to enjoy as well. Not a bad spot at all if you are considering moving to a city location!

"Moving Forward on a Positive Note"

This is the type of neighborhood that you want to tell people about who live outside of Detroit. This shows firsthand that there is a future for the city and that within it lies great potential. You see that when you look here and see firsthand how well the revitalization efforts are really going here.

Sure there are some small pockets within this neighborhood that need attention still, but it is a vast improvement from what it was years ago. This used to be an area that became run down, full of abandoned homes and trashed streets. Fast forward to present time and you will see that this has become a true sign of how well revitalization efforts can really go.

You have the Henry Ford Hospital located within this neighborhood and that's a major draw. Not only can you live close to the hospital but there are plenty of restauratns and shops right around there as well. This tends to draw in people who work at the hospital or who just want to be located near it.

There are some great new developments continuing to go up and that is moving people in. It's a good cost of living for a new development in a great area of town. You do have to ignore the small pockets of areas in need of help, but for the most part that is the minority of the area as a whole.

You have great accessibility, you're close to major roads and the hospital, have amenities nearby, and are even close to schools. This is a great area within Detroit and a sign that revitaliztion is coming and that it truly can work to your advantage.

"Benefits of City and Suburb Living"

What strikes you first is that this is a part of Detroit that happens to be much closer to the suburbs than to the city itself. For some that may be a negative but for those that want a quiet part of town that offers plenty of amenities, this is actually a great draw.

There are definitely some parts of this neighborhood that could use some work. Though the majority of the area as a whole is in good shape and is obviously taken care of, there are a few exceptions. Since it is still within Detroit city limits you will find pockets that have abandoned homes and which are in need of help. Once you get past that though you find some truly great living that offers the benefits of city and suburb living.

The cost of living is great here and that brings people in. It can offer a nice part of town to raise a family as you are close to schools and to plenty of great restaurants and shops. You can easily get to whatever you need as you have access to several major roads, all of which offer plenty of amenities individually.

Though there can be some traffic to contend with, it's not like the type you would experience in the city. You have some good houses to choose from, great accessibility, plenty of amenities, and you will pay a lot less than in the adjacent suburbs. This is therefore an area that appeals to many, particularly if you are looking for a longer term investment. The pockets that need a bit of help need some attention, but beyond that it's a pretty nice spot to live.

"A Good Spot in Town"

This is one of those areas that has some great features to it and therefore it's a sought after neighborhood as a whole. You are located right near the Detroit Golf Club and close to Palmer Park and that not only means that it's an upper scale area but that there is some great recreation nearby as well.

There is a slightly higher cost of living here but anybody who lives here will tell you that it's worth it. The houses are in good shape, and the area as a whole is well taken care of. There is a great neighborhood association here and so you get to feel like a part of the community very easily.

You are close to University of Detroit and that makes it convenient for those taking classes there. Not only that but you can attend sporting events or even some of the great restaurants or bars that are close to campus. You are within the city and close to everything and yet you somehow feel like you have your own little corner of the world here.

You can get to this little part of town easily, it's got everything you need nearby and it's a very safe and connected community. This should be the part of town that people focus on as it has so much to offer and none of the bad stuff that nearby areas do.

"Truly a Little Bit of Everything"

Many flock here as it's close enough to the city but also close enough to the suburbs. Many who work within Redford for example may choose this area as it's closeby and has a good cost of living. It's a great area in that you are located right off of some major streets and therefore accessibility is yours.

Along with that accessibility you can find just about anything that you may need closeby. You have access to good restaurants, stores, and even a bit of nightlife. So you won't have to worry about convenice as you are well located in terms of getting what you need on a daily basis.

This is like so many other neighborhoods within Detroit in that it has some less than stellar areas. Though the good overall outweighs the bad here, there are a few specific areas in need of some help. Overall the area could just use a bit of updating, but nothing major.

This is not a high crime area in general, and so you feel pretty safe here. It's sort of average only in the sense that the updates would really help to make it a truly great area. So you won't do badly here but could potentially do better nearby too. It really is in the middle and you get a bit of everything.

"Good Spot Though Not Much Residential"

What you will find here is some great history. The State Fair Grounds are something almost magical as they are one of the oldest in the country and therefore some great things have occured here. You can enjoy what a true state fair is meant to be here and that grounds almost speak to that.

The rich history is the main focus of this area as there isn't much in the way of residential. Though there are homes nearby they aren't what the focus of the State Fair Grounds encompass. The other unfortunate part of this is that though the fair grounds are great, the surrounding areas in some instances aren't all that great overall.

Sure you are close enough to suburbs like Ferndale that have great nightlife and a lot of amenities to offer, but the rest isn't so great. The area of 8 Mile and Woodward has a very negative connotation and that is one of the closest surrounding areas.

It's importante to note that the State Fair Grounds themselves are in good shape and are perfectly safe for attending an event within. There is a great story to be told here and it's practically a rite of passage in the area to visit them at some point. There isn't much in terms of residential though and what is closeby isn't necessarily your best choice, particularly for families with children.
Pros
  • A Rich Piece of Local History
  • Great for Events and Family Fun
  • Many major thoroughfares and retail outlets
  • The State Fair is still fun
Cons
  • Not Much Residential to Speak Of
  • Some Areas Closeby Aren't the Best
  • 8 mile and Woodward are notorious trouble spots after dark

"Great Potential and Hope for the Future"

So the truth about this neighborhood is that it's all across the board. There are pockets of the area that have nice homes and are well kept. Then you will find others just the opposite where there are abandoned homes in need of help and streets to match that predicament.

There are some that are seeing the potential that this area has and there is talk of revitalization. Though it has happened it has been slow to start and so there is a need for more overall. The nice homes may be present but there needs to be more of a positive spin to make this a desirable area in the future.

You won't want for anything in terms of amenities. You have some good restaurants nearby, you have plenty of stores, and since this is a rather large neighborhood you are covered in terms of what you need in terms of convenience. You have access to major roads and to public transporation. Though you have that accessibility handy you also will find that the traffic and noise is far enough removed that it won't bother you.

The bottom line here is that there is in fact great potential. You can enjoy some of the nice parts and be hopeful that this sort of thing outweighs the bad in the future. It's not really a high crime area, but just that the not so desirable areas of town are just not kept up properly. So there is great hope for the future that revitalization will take over an area that could use a bit of help.
Pros
  • Potential for Revitalization Efforts

"An Unfortunate Representation"

When people from outside the city of Detroit take a look at what the character of the city is all about, unfortunately they always look to a neighborhood such as this. The very unfortunate part of this is that every city has parts like this, but this is the vision that carries over in many people's minds. So the bad outweighs the good!

You are close to "Mexican Town" and that means some great restaurants. The good part of this area is that it has a very close knit Latino presence and there are a lot of stores, restaurants, and even nightlife that cater to that. So if you are looking for diversity or amenities that cater to the Latino population you will find it there.

Unfortunately though the area is rich in diversity it is also riddled with crime. This happens to be one of the worst areas in town in terms of feeling safe and the crime is therefore very high. You don't necessarily feel safe walking through the streets here because you are very aware that it is a high crime area.

Many of the homes are either abandoned or in need of some major improvements. You won't find new or up and coming homes here and overall there is the need for some revitalization efforts. Though it is hopeful that could happen someday, the problem is that the crime outweighs many of the positive attributes of this area.

Though this may have once been a great area, it is now one that you wouldn't want to move. The crime, the unsettled feeling, and the definite need for improvements are what people will remember about this neighborhood. It is a great area for diversity but unfortunately much of the bad outweighs the good overall.
Pros
  • Great Stores and Restaurants Within Here and Nearby
  • Excellent Diversity and a Good Solid Latino Presence
  • Caters to a Latino population

"Not the Worst But Definitely Not the Best Either"

Here's the thing about this area--not all parts of it are bad! This seems to be the case in more and more neighborhoods within Detroit and this is no different. When you take a good long hard look at this area as a whole it's definitely not the worst out there. However due to the bad parts of the area it makes it not the best choice out there either.

You have a true neighborhood in terms of community on one hand. this is where the streets are clean and where the houses are well kept. Then you have another pocket that is full of crime and just looks run down. So as is the case with plenty of neighborhoods within Detroit, it makes it sort of confusing in terms of what its overall identity is.

You can find some good spots to live within here, but you may be better off in looking elsewhere. It's really up to you and your taste, and if you can handle putting up with the potential for crime in your own backyard. Yes it's close to major roads and you have some decent amenities nearby, but there are better areas overall that you could select from.

So take your own circumstance and lifestyle into consideration. If the crime nearby isn't a deterrant then you can get a great cost on a home and have access to some decent amenities. If you want it all then this may not be the best area however so choose carefully and know everything before making a solid choice.
Pros
  • Some Decent Amenities Nearby

"A Good Area Worth Checking Out"

It's hard to believe that areas like this exist when they are surrounded by some that are less than desirable. This is the type of area within Detroit that should be getting more attention and unfortunately it is overshadowed by those areas that receive the more negative attention.

This is just a nice neighborhood, and a great place to move to. It has nice homes, it's well kept, the streets are clean, and overall it has a nice sense of community. If you are looking to move somewhere that has a true neighborhood feel within the city limits then this is it. You also happen to be close to plenty of amenities and it is therefore quite convenient to get in and around here, with much of what you need closeby.

You have some nice parks nearby, access to restaurants and nightlife, and you are close to major expressways and roads. You are close enough to access them with ease but not feel bogged down by the noise or traffic. So it's a perfect blend!

This is some nice suburban like living within the city. Many families with kids move here as it's safe and sound, but it's also got a nice draw to it for those that want to live in a nice area that is still close enough to the city center. This is one of the nicer neighborhoods within Detroit and well worth checking out!

"Bad Points Outweigh the Good"

If you take isolated areas within this neighborhood then you can tell that there is some great potential here. There are some well kept and nice looking houses, but unfortunately they are in the minority. The problem is that they are surrounded by areas that are rundown and full of crime.

The other problem is also a potential benefit. You could say that the fact that this neighborhood is located close to some major expressways and roads work in its favor. Yes it's easy to get here and to get around in this neighborhood. The problem though is that since it is surrounded by so many major roads this contributes to a lot of noise and a lot of traffic in the area.

There isn't much in the way of amenities. Though there may have been a good share of stores and restaurants, they aren't around anymore. It's an area as a whole that is in need of some major updates. It has some good potential but again those areas are isolated.

The crime in this area is some of the highest around and that right there makes it a less than desirable area. There is a park nearby but it tends to be an area where crime exists and centers around. So this is definitely not where you would want to move with kids. Though the cost of living is good here, the bad really outweighs the good. Therefore this may not be the best area overall and is not much of a draw no matter what your specific situation is.
Pros
  • A Few Nice Homes in Area
  • Great Accessibility
  • The Southfield Freeway is close by

"Similar Feeling to Other Areas"

Many people don't even realize that they are within Detroit when they visit this area. This like many other areas nearby are often mistaken for Redford or other nearby communities. There's nothing wrong with that but it just doesn't have the notarity of being within the city limits.

It's a fine neighborhood, nothing special but nothing bad either. It has plenty of amenities nearby as it is located just off of Telegraph. You can get to just about anything off of this major road and if it's not in your backyard then it's certainly closeby. So in terms of convenience and accessibility you have it all here.

You will enjoy some nice parks here and aren't that far from the downtown area, but it's definitely not just a walk. You have access to the suburbs with them being just down the street. So for many this makes for a happy medium and a great one at that. You can really enjoy all that this area has to offer and find a great value on the homes.

If you want something that's sort of between the city feeling and the suburbs with a great price on housing and some nice amenities then this is a great spot. You will enjoy the feeling, find a good community, and overall be happy with the area as a whole.

"Some Good Points"

This is a neighborhood that varies a bit based on how far you get into it. When you are close to the 8 Mile portion it's not as great, but it seems to get better and better as you move inward. So it's a little bit unusual but even the worst area is still not bad. It's not that it's unsafe, it's just perhaps in need of a few updates.

This is great because it's close to a lot including some nice parks and recreational areas, and that means a lot to familes with kids who can enjoy it. All of these areas are safe and very popular in the warmer months. The area also happens to be close to some great neighboring communities and that makes it a great fit for families as well.

You will find that this area is not only easy enough to get to, but also that it has some great amenities within it. You can get to everything from stores to restaurants and you're even close to some decent nightlife. You really can't go wrong when you figure that the cost of homes here is really good for homeowners.

This is another area of the city that many should look to in terms of what could be. Sure there are areas within here that could use a bit of updating but it's all worth it when you get into the heart of it. This is an area that many would be happy with and for which the attractions and location could be a draw in and of itself.

"A Nice Little Area"

You can't go wrong in this nice area of Detroit, and that's such great news for the city as a whole. This is one of those areas that has been around forever but yet still has some great attraction to it. There's nothing particularly special or elite about this neighborhood, but it's just nice overall.

You can find a great home for a nice price and that's drawing in more and more people. You are also located close to Chandler Park so you are just a stone's throw from the beauty of this natural area as well as a golf course. This neighborhood is nice enough on its own but then when you add in the proximity of the park that really seals the deal, particularly for those families with children.

You have plenty nearby and so it's convenient to get to restaurants, shoping and even a bit of nightlife. It's easy enough to get in and out of town, great accessiblity with a major expressway running through town. That makes this an excellent choice, particularly if you want to get a lot for your money.

If you want to live within the city of Detroit and want a nice option that helps you to fulfill all of your requirements of a neighborhood then this makes for an excellent choice. Many are finding this to be their preferred option and so it's a great time to live here.

"Convenient Location But Not Much Else"

It's unfortunate when an area that is so conveneniently located doesn't have much of a draw. This is just off of the main 8 Mile Road that travels through. It is therefore easy to access public transporation amongst other amenities. The unfortunate thing though is that short of that you don't have much nearby.

You don't have much in the way of restaurants except for a few fast food options--even those seem to be a bit run down. It's a bit of a tired community at best and its best years at this point seem to be behind. The price of housing is good and that could be a draw, but there's just not much else to back it up.

You will find some original homeowners here, as there isn't a lot of new traffic coming into the neighborhood. It's not that its' a bad area, it's just in need of updates and improvements. It needs some new breath breathed into it and until then it's just not going to be a hot spot within the Detroit area.

It is close to some suburbs and perhaps that can offer some attraction to potential buyers. If you want to be within the city limits but close enough to the suburbs then this is a good spot. Just go in knowing that there really isn't much in the way of amenities, attractions, or points of interest within this somewhat tired community.
Pros
  • Some Homes Have Been Kept Up On
  • Buses run througout the area
  • Retail outlets on 7 mile and 8 mile

"No Big Draw Here"

It's a shame that an area known for the settling of many Polish immigrants has turned into such an undesirable spot within Detroit. Though it is close enough to Hamtramck it doesn't offer any of the same appeal of that neighborhood. Though there are still some original homeowners there they are few as the area has really gone downhill over time.

This is an area that used to hold such appeal and promise. The homes were once beautiful but now they are either overrun, abandoned, or in need of some major help. It's an area that happens to be close to some great spots of town such as Eastern Market and the Medical Center, but even that can't save it from being one of the most undesirable parts of town.

This area has become taken over with crime and it ranks up there as one of the most unsafe areas that you will find within the city of Detroit. Unfortunately it is a vision of this type of neighborhood that many outside of Detroit have for the city overall. Hopefully at some point in time revitalization efforts will take over and people will once again feel safe and drawn to here again. For now though it is just not a good area to visit much less live within.

If you want to live in the middle of things there are other communities nearby that are much more desirable. It's a shame what this area has turned into and hopefully it won't stay this way for long.
Pros
  • Has Good Potential and a Great History
  • Close to City Amenities

"Not a Desirable Area"

Normally when you say that an area is just off of the expressway that adds appeal in terms of accesibility. In this case however it really just adds a lot of noise to this already undesirable spot. The unforunate part is that you can see when you look at some of the homes here you can see that there was once some beauty and a great neighborhood within here.

Now many of the homes are either in need of major improvements or updates. Many of the homes are even adandoned and therefore make for a very unsafe environment. You will find homeless within the abandoned homes and the streets are filled with abandoned cars and in some cases garbage.

This is yet another area of the city that many hope will be able to get a bit of attention in terms of revitalization. It's easy to get to and isn't too far from amenities that you would need, but it's hard to get past the unsavory surroundings. You want to feel safe where you live and unfortunately you won't feel that way here.

You could get a lot for your money with the homes available but you have to decide if you are comfortable in this environment. This part of town is unfortunately not a good spot to visit and most certainly not a good spot to live. Hopefully it will turn around at some point, but for now it's worth looking at neighboring communities to be safe.

"A Good Spot on the Outskirts of Town"

Though this is at the far end of the Detroit city limits, it has a lot of great benefits to it. If you don't mind being a bit removed from the center of the city, you can capture a lot of great amenities that this specific area has to offer. You are really located closer to Dearborn Heights than the actual city of Detroit, but that doesn't mean that you are lacking for the things that you really need to get to.

Within this area you are close to a nice park which is great for families with children. You are also located near some major roads, particularly Telegraph, which makes it easy to get in and around here. You can find just about everything that you could ever want in terms of restaurants, shopping, convenience, and even a bit of nightlife with the major roads that run through it.

You have good schools and a great park which makes this a popular spot for families with children. It's a good cost of living and you can get a nice home for a reasonable price. You will enjoy a neighborhood that is tight knit and feel like you are truly part of a community.

You can't go wrong here and so if you don't mind being on the outskirts of Detroit you can really get in on a great deal in a desirable spot. This is well worth checking out and may be a good match to fit all of your needs, particularly if you have children.

"A True Local Gem"

This is some of the most natural beauty that you will find in the city. This is an area that is known really more for its name sake as a park than as a residential area. Though there may be homes around here, the area is known more for the gorgeous park and the many activities that you can partake in here.

Though there are other parks in the city of Detroit, this is the most noteworthy. Not only do you have access to amenities for kids here, but you will also find a full golf course for the adults to enjoy. "A Great Place to Live"

First there's the fact that this neighborhood is of course located right next to Palmer Park and that has a nice draw to it. Then you add to it the fact that this is close to the Detroit Golf Club and that increases its appeal. Then when you figure that it's right off of Woodward, close to University of Detroit, and close to other outdoor recreational areas, you have it all.

This is a nice area of town with beatiful homes that have been kept up with through the years. You have plenty of restaurants, some good nightlife, and even stores located nearby that you can get to easily. It's a nice part of town for just about anyone. It may be slightly more expensive to live here than other areas of town, but many will argue that it's well worth it.

You feel completely safe walking around here and that's a nice draw. It's just one of those parts of town that make you feel good. You can see that work has been put into the upkeep of this community. You can see that the people who live here really care. You can tell that the homes are just as beautiful now as they were years back.

It's all in all a great place to live and a nice spot for just about anyone to enjoy. Highly recommended!

"Needs Some Updating"

What you won't find within this neighborhood is above average crime. What you will find is a good neighborhood that has a nice sense of community and who want to bring this back to the hot spot that it used to be. The theater is the biggest draw here as it has so much history and therefore many want to still visit it from time to time.

It was time, a decline in people moving in, and a devastating fire a few years back that really brought this part of town to its knees. Though there is of course great potential here it's not necessarily the part of town that many would hand pick to live in. It's not a bad area and you do feel safe here, but it is definitely in need of some updating and improvements.

The good news is that you are close to several major roads and that makes it very easy to get in and around. It's highly accessible, close enough to amenities, and nice part of town are nearby. It has traditionally been a part of town where many families with kids gravitated to, but through time it just didn't have the draw that other parts of town did.

There is a golf course that has been here for years and it still brings in a fair amount of interest. However a community can't live off of just that alone. Therefore this is a part of town that you wouldn't necessarily want to move to, but yet it's certainly not as bad as other parts of town. Average at best as it is in great need of updates and improvements!

"Close to Oil Refinery and Manufacturing"

This used to be a nice little part of town that provided an entryway into the Downriver community. Though the neighborhood itself and the homes here are still in good shape, it happens to be very close to a huge industrial area. The oil refinery that sits right next to this community is causing some major problems.

Those that live here will tell you that the problem has gotten worse and worse in recent years. It feels as though a huge layer of smog just sits over this part of town like a blanket. This makes for an unsavory and often unsafe condition for the people of this community to live within. Therefore many are trying to get out and local industrial businesses are even offering to help them do so in some cases.

There is great potential for the area as a whole in terms of the location and the neighborhood. However the problem of the oil refinery and other industrial plants makes it too difficult to get past. If you find that you are interested in a good cost of living and can live with this problem then it may be a match. Many however are finding that the potential for heatlh problems and unclean air simply isn't worth it.

It's a great part of town and close to the Downriver community but the nearby oil refinery and other problems related to the graet industrial presence here make it a bad choice for many. This may prevent many people from ever being interested in moving here now or in the future.
Pros
  • Nice Entryway to the Downriver Community
Cons
  • Potential Health Hazards from Nearby Oil Refinery

"Rich History But Not Much Else"

You may or may not realize it, but this happens to be a true historic district within the city of Detroit. The homes that were built here hold some great stories and are part of an overriding group that is striving to make this community better. The problem is that this part of the community went down with some of the events and circumstances within Detroit and has never really recovered.

You will find enough amenities nearby but they aren't necessarily plentiful. You can enjoy some things like restaurants, but there's nothing to write home about. It is located near major roads and expressways but that's one of the only true draws to the area. It's not that it's a terrible neighborhood, it's just that there's nothing particularly special about it besides the fact that it is a historic district.

While it's not desolate like other areas of town, it is definitely run down. It is in need of some help and therefore many are hoping that this will be an area that gets a bit of revitalization attention. Though there are some good points here and many striving to make it a true community, it has a ways to go before getting to that final destination.

With the potential of this area and the rich history and great story to tell, it is hopeful that things turn around in the near future. Though things don't look great, that can all change and many are hoping that it does so soon.

"Used to Have It Going On...But Not Anymore"

Some see great potential when they look at this area, others not so much. There are a lot of vacant lots and abandoned homes and that could mean some great things ahead. Others see that this area that should be full of wonderful amenities due to its location has seen better days.

The problem here is that it used to be an area that had great homes and wonderful amenities, but it wasn't kept up with. There is the draw of the Motown Museum. There is also the fact that it's a very accessible area of town and one that is easy to get in and around. You will also find the fact that it's close to Wayne State and to Henry Ford Hospital appealing. The problem though is that those may be the only big draws here.

This is not the worst part of town, not by a long shot. It however isn't the best part of town either. So you're kind of in the middle with there being a big need for doing something with the vacant lots that line the streets here. Hopeful for the future indeed!
Pros

"Best of Both Worlds"

Many people feel conflicted if they want the true feeling of big city living or the comfort of suburban neighborhood living....and this is the best of both worlds! This is an area that used to be a well kept secret but is catching on for those that want something right in the middle.

You are right in the midst of the city and though you may be surrounded by some less desirable locations, you have a great little find here. The houses are well kept and beautiful, there are parks nearby, and yet you are still close to all of the convenience and amenities that the downtown area has to offer. A true find for those that want it all!

Many families with children are moving here as they find the cost of living appealing and yet feel safe raising their children here. You will be happy with the fact that it's accessible since it's right near a major expressway and a major road in Grand River. You can easily get to this part of town and it's easy enough to get around when you are there.

You have some good restaurants nearby, you don't have to travel far to get to anything, and overall this is a great part of town with everything that you need. This is what a neighborhood is all about, particularly within a big city where it can sometimes get a little isolated. You will feel part of a great community and like everything about this part of town!

"Nice Area of Town"

This is where it's going on! If you come to Detroit for just about anything, chances are that it starts or ends up in the New Center area. This is where the Ren Cen is located and where you can find a great number of restaurants and nightclubs. It has some great options for shopping and overall a wonderful nightlife. It used to be that this was the only appeal that this part of town held, but that has changed dramatically.

The housing in this area used to be run down but that is no longer the case. Now there are some wonderful housing options and a great focus on making this one of the highlights of the city of Detroit. There is a coalition in place that is helping to revitalize this area in addition to other areas nearby. Since this is such a focal point within town it only makes sense that the housing should be just as great as the attractions.

This is truly big city living and therefore you can find any number of great apartment buildings and homes amongst the many attractions located here. It's very easily accessible as it is close to two major expressways and is quite literally at the center of everything. You even have some great parks nearby and therefore this is a great spot to pick within the city limits.

"Great Sense of Community and Positive Changes"

The fact that this is an area of town that is located close to Grosse Point makes it appealing to many that are interested in living here. Yes it does have some areas that are in need of help, but overall some great things are happening here. There happens to be a local coalition/neighborhood organization that has the best interst of the area at heart. They have worked hard to end crime, clean things up, and even give deserving people the potential to live here.

This is what revitalization is all about. It's happening, but of course slowly so many are waiting for things to catch up. It is conveniently locted near the I-94 expressway which means that it's accessible. It's nto far from the water or from nice neighborhoods such as Grosse Pointe. It has some great restaurants and stores nearby and even within the area specifically.

You can get to what you need to and it feels safe. That sentiment is improving with time and becoming even more desirable in terms of a spot to live. You aren't too far from the draw of the downtown area and yet it feels like its own little are of town.

There is a true sense of community here as neighbors help neighbors. People work together to improve the area and draw in new patrons to live here that care as much as they do. This is what other areas of the city are looking to in terms of improvements and how to turn things around.
Pros

"In Need of Major Help"

Not only is this not a place that you would want to live, but it's not really one that you would want to visit. Sure it's accessible since it's close to major roads and that makes it about the only true appeal. You can tell by the homes that line the street here that it used to be something special, but unfortunately that no longer holds true.

You are close to everything but surrounded by crime. Though there may certainly be some exceptions to the rule, the majority of homes around here are in need of help as is the area as a whole. This is a high crime area and certainly not one that you would want to move to. Sure you can get a lot for your money here but that's due in large part to the vast number of foreclosures from people who wanted to high tail it out of here.

It's a sad state of affairs here and many hope that it will be yet another area for revitalization. You may be able to look at potential here, but many can't get past the current state of affairs. Though it may be close enough to amenities, there are other areas of town that are sure to be more desirable and have more to offer overall.

"A Rather Unfortunate Area of Town"

The thing about this neighborhood is that it offers some great potential. It has some potentially beautiful parks nearby and it is really accessible by local expressways and major roads. So there are some positive attributes, but even those cant' save this area of town.

This was probably once a wonderful area offering some rich beauty through the parks and what must have been great homes. Unfortunately over time it has become rundown, has many abandoned and even damaged homes, and of course as a result is just not a good spot. This is an area that is full of crime and therefore you don't feel so safe walking around the streets here.

You can find some nice things to say about it, but most of them are based on what used to be representative of this neighborhood. This is a perfect example of waht happens when there isn't a sense of community and when the bad wins out over the good. This area of town may have had good things in the past but they have not carried over into the future.

It is hopeful that this is yet another part of town that may be revitalized, but no real plans yet. Those that live here have access to plenty but many wouldn't opt to live here just to have that convenience.

"Great Industrial History But Not Much Else"

This was the spot that you wanted to be based in when the Motor City was gaining its name. This is an area of town that has a very rich history to it in terms of the start of the auto industry as we know it today. You can see this rich history through the many manufacturing buildings and businesses that still stand here. Unfortunately there isn't much else in this neighborhood!

Though there may have been some homes back then to speak of, there simply aren't now. The buildings that were once home to the many industrial marvels years back still stand, most of them abandoned. Not only are there not homes to speak of here, but the area itself has become quite rundown.

There may be some potential here but it would take a lot to turn this rundown industrial area of town into a thriving residential neighborhood. It's sad to look at what must have been wonderful years back and see what it has turned into through time and circumstances.

"Nice Community with Good Highlights"

You have just about whatever you want nearby or within your grasp. This is truly big city living as it's right about the center of things and yet you have a little bit of peace and quiet if you want it too. This is a neighborhood that is truly turning around and that has some nice restaurants and shops nearby.

You feel safe as you walk through there and many do in the warmer months. You have the draw of some good restaurants and some very affordable living within this neighborhood. It does need some attention but it is definitely on the upswing. This is an area that shows revitalization can take place and really turn things around.

It hasn't improved as quickly as other areas of town but it's getting there. You will still find some abandoned homes or rundown streets, but they are becoming fewer and fewer. "Some Good Points"

This used to be an area that was completely run down and had little to offer...but times are changing! With the collection of great restaurants here such as Slow's BBQ and The Whitney amongst other things, this area is having new life breathed into it. This provides hope not only for the Midtown area, but also for other areas of town in a similar situation.

There used to be nothing but rundown homes and abandoned lots nearby but that is on the turnaround. There is a lot of space being rented out to retail stores, restaurants, and mixed use buildings that make for an excellent potenital for this arae of town. You are already seeing more and more people interested in living in this area of town and that's good for everyone.

This is accessible since it's located right near the Lodge expressway and close to Grand River. It's located right near the Medical Center so it makes for a nice place to live if you work nearby. You have access to some great amenities and overall this is a great area of town.

It does need some work which is happening, but not as fast as some people may like. There are some great points about this area of town and it is on the rise and heading for wonderful new things.

"Decent Area on the Edge of Town"

If you want to live within Detroit but don't necessarily want to live in the center of things, then this may be a great match. This is closer to nearby Dearborn than it is to the epicenter of Detroit, but that works as a draw for some people. It's not necessarily a hot spot but it's not a bad area either.

There is access to some good restaurants along Michigan Avenue that runs through this neighborhood. You can get to shopping and other amenities pretty easily, though there isn't a ton right here in the neighborhood. It has some nice parts of the neighborhood and some that could use a bit of updating.

Many of the homes are still owned by their original owners and they do take good care of their homes. The rest are a bit outdated and in need of some serious work. So overall it's sort of a mixed bag when it comes to the general feeling of the neighborhood as a whole.

You can get to waht you want to easily, it's a good cost of living, it's close to nearby Dearborn and even the Downriver community, and it's out of the way enough to give you some peace and quiet. It may not be the most sought after area of town but it's not necessarily one to turn away from either.
Pros
  • Some Good Peace and Quiet
  • Close Enough to Amenities
  • Near major freeways I-94 and I-75

"Nothing Great to Say"

With all of the activity that nearby Eastern Market gets you would think that there would be a draw to this area--but unfortunately there just isn't! The good thing to say is that this is close to some major roads and not far from local medical care, but that's about it. Sure you can get a lot for your money and have access to public transportation but that's about it.

This may have been a desirable part of town years ago but it isn't anymore. There are a lot of abandoned homes in the area and the crime rate is high here. There isn't much to offer in this part of town and therefore it doesn't attract many new residents. Even those that have lived here through the years have found that it doesn't offer much to them and therefore many are moving elsewhere.

It's unfortunate as this is what many people think of when they envision Detroit. This is definitely one of the worst areas of town and not even one that you'd want to visit. Hopefully it will get some attention in terms of revitalization but for now it's in a category all its own and is not a neighborhood even worth the visit.
Pros
  • Easily Accessible

"Great for Amenities But Not for Living"

The beauty of this area is that it is smack dab in the middle of the medical district. Not only is this great for you as a potential patient, but also if you happen to work in the field. It is however important to note though that there isn't much in the way of actual homes here. Those that work here tend to live in nearby apartment buildings in neighboring parts of town such as Midtown. There really isn't much in the way of housing here.

You are in a safe area of town and you have a lot nearby. You will find that you are close to both Wayne State University as well as the actual Medical Center. You can get in and around town easily with access to major expressways and major roads such as Woodward. All of that works in your favor and that makes for a great choice!

If you want to live here though you will have to pick a spot in a neighboring town. There really isn't much in the way of homes here at all and so you need to do your research. You can still find plenty of homes nearby and be close to the amenities that you are interested in.

This is a great spot in terms of what is located in and around here. If you want to live here though you will have to check into other nearby neighborhoods that have homes to pick from. It is however a great spot of town overall!

"Really In the Middle"

Many find great appeal to the fact that this area is conveniently located near University of Detroit Mercy. Many students opt to live here and there are some great apartments to pick from. The problem is that this is about all you will find. Sure it's close to the university but that's about it, not much more.

You're not really close to any true amenities. You don't have to travel far but it's not right at the corner either. It's close to the Lodge expressway which means that it's convenient but it's also rather noisy too. You are close to the Detoit Golf Club that is no longer the amenity or draw that it was years ago.

It's situated in an okay part of town, nothing special. It's average at best, not good but not bad either. It's not an area that many people would pick but isn't really one to be deterred from either. So at the best many would say that this area is average and that if youw ant to live close to the university it makes for a good part of town.
Pros

"Truly Fantastic"

You have everything you could ever want here, and more! You have access and visibility to the water, you have great restaurants in your neighborhood and you have a great part of town to live in. Many have been drawn through the years to the restaurants that have made this neighborhood famous. The Rooster Tail and Sinbad's have been around for years and are practically local institutions.

The view of the river is another draw here. You know that you are in a safe and sound part of town and that means a lot. You get to take in the beautiful view of the water through some fantastic surroundings. There are beautiful long standing homes here and there are also some fantastic new developments going up. A great promise for the future!

This is close to other nice neighborhoods so that offers an additional draw for many people. You can enjoy the beauty of your own neighborhood but also take in some great local views too. There is a true sense of community here, great homes, and great amenities all within your fingertips. This is a wonderful area of town to visit and of course to live in!

"Hit or Miss"

Many potential investors are finding that they can get a lot for a little here. You can get a great house that doesn't need much in the way of updates for very little money. That's the good news....but the bad is that this is in a less than desirable area.

Though there are some homes that are intact and apparently cared for, they are in the minority. Many of the homes here have become rundown or have just become abandoned over time. What used to be a thriving area running along Fenkel is now just not a great area of town.

There are some stores and restaurants nearby so it's not as if you are without what you need. You are in a pretty decent part of town witha playground nearby but overall many people aren't drawn here. If you have the money to invest and are indifferent to the neighborhood as a whole then this could be a good match.

The problem is that it's really truly hit or miss. If you are okay with not knowing what surrounds you then you can take a gamble. If however you are worried about your surroundings or have children that you want a good area for, then this may not be the best area of town. It has some good points but it also has some bad points too.
Pros
  • Close to Amenities

"Needs a Little Help"

This is an area that has good potential but just isn't there yet. Unfortunately through the years it has gotten run down and just doesn't have the luster that it once did. The area is full of abandoned houses and the neighborhood for the most part seems to be in a state of disarray.

The people that live here do take great pride in their homes. Unfortunately the abandoned homes have sort of overruled the area as a whole and therefore are what many associate the area with. The good and the bad news is that this has two major expressways running through it. This makes for convenience and accessibility but it also means that there is a lot of traffic and also a lot of noise.

There isn't much in the way of amenities and therefore it's not a great spot in town. It could use some help and therefore there is the hope that revitalization will come to this part of town as it has for others. There is great potential to be had here, but it has a long way to go in order to get there.
Pros
  • Some Houses Well Kept

"Not Too Bad"

If you can put up with the noise from the airport then this really isn't a bad area of town. As with any neighborhood near an airport, you can expect to hear a lot of noise from planes traveling overhead. To some people that doesn't matter or they get used to it, but it's certainly good to know that this exists here.

The homes are pretty well kept and therefore you don't see much in terms of desolate areas. There is crime here, but it's about average and therefore you feel safe enough walking around. It's close to other desirable areas of town and you feel like you have your fair share of amenities nearby.

There are plenty of families with kids here and though you don't have too many huge parks in the area, you really aren't far from any either. It's a nice way of being near the city but yet being a little bit removed in a true neighborhood sort of feeling. It's the best of both worlds and a very affordable way to do it!

If you want an area of town that has great amenities, is close to just about everything, has a good cost of living, and you don't mind the noise of the airport nearby then this may be a good choice for you. There is plenty of good to offer and therefore it's a little bit above average overall.

"Nice Little Area of Town"

Out with the old and in with the new...that's what we see in this little part of town! The recent demolition of the apartment building that sat vacant for years gave way to some really great things happening here. It's always been a nice neighborhood in a great location and now there is some great potential for revitalization.

The homes are well kept, the area is safe, and one of the biggest draws is that it happens to be close to Greektown. That means that it's right in the center of the activity, close to great restaurants, nightlife, and even the casino. That also means that it's not far from the sport stadiums in town and therefore you can get to everything easily and feel safe walking there.

Many are finding that this area offers a good cost of living and that it's accessible as it happens to be close to the expressways. This is easy to get to, easy to get around, close to everything, and there are some nice housing options. If you truly want to be in the center of everything and feel safe walking to everything you could ever want, then this is a great spot of town.

"Definitely Room for Improvement"

The homes have never been the issue here but the surrounding areas most certainly have. This is an area where the homes have always been relatively well taken care of, but unfortunately the area itself has gone downhill. The good news is that it is an area within Detroit that is getting some attention and therefore there is hope that it will become a more vibrant area.

Crime is rather high here and so this deters a lot of people. There are a good amount of closed businesses, abandoned buildings, and therefore a lot of areas for people up to no good to hang out within. There isn't much in terms of stores, restaurants, or amenities to speak of. Though there used to be some good choices many of them have recently shut down.

It's not necessarily a desirable area but with the recent attention of city officials and the potential for some great revitalization many people are taking a second look. There is a lot that can be done here, particularly since most of the homes were never an issue.

You can get a lot for your money and that may be attractive to potential investors. If the efforts really prove to be successful then this may very well turn out to be a great spot in town to live in.

"Just Gorgeous"

What more could you want when you live here? This is an area of town that truly has it all! When you go through here you see some of the most gorgeous homes around. They are well kept, have gorgeous yards, and are like something you might see out of a storybook.

This is a neighborhood with rich history and so the community has stayed intact and worked hard to keep that going strong. The neighborhood is very tight knit and it shows that people really take pride in their homes and in living here. This is a well kept secret as some people within Detroit don't even know that this beautiful area of town exists.

It is admittedly a rather expensive area of town but many would argue that you are getting a lot for your money. You get waterfront property, are close to the downtown area and to other preferred spots within town like Indian village, and you have many amenities right nearby. You have parks, culture, and a great sense of community.

If you want to be a part of things in Detroit and have the money for a beautiful home like this, then this neighborhood should be top on your list of places to check into.

"Been Voted One of the Safest Cities"

If being close to the water isn't enough, there is another draw that may convince you that this is a great part of town. Amidst other areas that may not be deemed as very safe, this particular neighborhood has been voted one of the safest in the area. That's of great comfort and appeal to those interested in moving here!

It's located close to Grosse Pointe and that in and of itself offers some great appeal. It is right near a great area of town and therefore carries over many of these characteristics with it. You will find just about everything that you need here from good schools to parks to waterfront views, and along with all of that some great homes. "Good Things Happening Here"

This is an area that has had its fair share of desolate spots and abandoned homes. This was unfortuatne as it happens to be in a prime location right along the river with a great view. That being said, there are plenty of people who noticed that and got in on the opportunity to be a part of revitalizing the area.

There are still a few spots that need a bit of help, but for the most part this is really coming to life. The Riverwalk area is really thriving and the new homes are just beautiful. It's in a great spot as it's close to the expressway, close to the water, and therefore has some great amenities nearby. You are even close to hospitals and schools and therefore you really have everything that you need.

Through the associations and organizations here there is a true sense of community. They have worked hard not only to put up some great new developments but to stand strong and make this a very safe area of town. This is a great place to visit and offers some fantastic homes. You will be close to everything you need and really love the homes that you have to choose from here. It's a good time to get in on the action here!

"Great Area of Town!"

This is an area of town where the cost of living may be high, but it's well worth it. Truthfully this is one of the most sought after areas of Detroit and therefore why they can command the money for real estate that they do. There are some gorgeous homes here that offer classic architecture and rich history.

This is a neighborhood with a serious sense of community. It has some fantastic organizations and associations that help to pull it together to be a very tight knit commnity. It isn't far from the water and that offers a nice feature on its own. It's located close to major roads and so it has accessibility.

It's very safe and a rather wealthy area of town to live in. This has become a sort of trendy and artsy area of town to live in. The history, the architecture, and the tight knit community have all helped to contribute to that. It does have a higher cost of living but many would argue that it's worth it.

You are close to everything, have some wonderful amenities nearby, right at the water, and of course have gorgeous homes surrounding you. The bottom line--you really can't go wrong here! If you have the money thent his is an area of town that you absolutely want to live in and enjoy!

"Some Notarity But Not Much Else"

If you have been to Mexicantown in Detroit then you have been to the Hubbard-Richard neighborhood. That is what this area is known for and that is its claim to fame. It has a number of Mexican restaurants and that's why it has become known through the years as "Mexicantown".

The great restaurants and food draw people in and make for a nice area to visit and have a meal. The problem is that there isn't much else to this neighborhood. There are some homes, but not many of them. It's not a true neighborhood in that sense as it's more focused on the business and commerce found here rather than the residential.

Another key factor that might draw people away from living here is that the major I-75 expressway literally runs right through the area. There isn't much parking and there is a lot of noise so it doesn't make for a lot of peace and quiet. There isn't a lot of crime here but there just aren't many amenities besides the local restaurants that have helped to put this area on the map so to speak.

This is a great place to visit and have a good meal, but not necessarily where you would want to live.
Pros
  • Good Restaurants in the Area
  • Safe Area of Town

"Exciting Things Happening Here"

This is an area that has some great history to it, some good and some bad. This used to be a thriving multifamily housing unit and area with much attraction. It even used to be home for many famous people and therefore had a great story to tell. Through time though this became low income housing that was rundown and what Detroit didn't want to be known for.

The good news however came a few years back when the housing was demolished and it was given a clean slate. Multi use buildings were put here for housing, store fronts, and many attractions that are helping to make this a very desirable area of town to live in.

It is in a nice part of town and therefore has a draw in and of itself. The revitalization efforts have been underway for a bit now and are expected to be completed next year if all goes well. This is therefore a very exciting time for this neighborhood as it is getting a lot of positive attention.

People are looking to this area as a way of revitalizing the city of Detroit overall. This is an area that could set a precedent and therefore draw people into the area that may have considered going elsewhere. You can get in on some great housing here and really get in at an exciting time!
Pros

"A Bit of a Mix"

The area overall has some appeal. It has a tightknit community within it that really does care about the neighborhood. They work hard to ensure that the homes are kept well and that everything looks nice for the people that live here. The problem is that not everybody is part of that community and therefore some of the homes here are a bit rundown.

This isn't the worst area of town but it's not the best area. It's located just off of 7 Mile which is a fine area and therefore it lends way to many families with kids. It isn't far from stores or restaurants but it also doesn't have any right around the corner either. This is a neighborhood that is sort of the middle in terms of its ranking and appeal.

You can get a lot for your money here and that's a draw. There are a good amount of families with kids so that offers some additional appeal. It's not far from the expressway and therefore it offers great accessibility and a nice convenience. If you want an area right in the middle of the city this isn't it. It's sort of remote but yet not too far from what you need on a daily basis.
Pros
  • Some Good Areas
  • A Certain Sense of Community
  • Close to the Highway
  • Houses aren't Crammed Like Other Areas

"Needs Some Attention"

This is not the area of town that you want to live in if you are looking for a safe and sound environment with tons of amenities. Though it does have a shopping center nearby, that's about it. There aren't many restaurants nearby and certainly no real nightlife to speak of.

More than that, this is an area that is in need of some attention. It simply doesn't have the luster that it once did and therefore it doesn't have the residents moving into the area that it once did either. It is located near some of the major roads in town, particularly 8 Mile, but you do have to drive a bit to get to anything worth noting.

You can get a lot for your money, but even potential investors are finding that the area simply isn't that desirable. It has some houses that need to have work done on them and overall just looks rundown. It could use some attention and therefore it is hopeful that some of the revitalization efforts will head this way in the long term.
Pros
  • Near Major Roads

"Nothing Crazy to Speak Of"

The thing about Green Acres is that it used to be in such a hot spot as it is located right near the old State Fairgrounds. When that closed a few years back though, it lost some of the appeal that it held before. Many loved living here as it was close to such a hot spot in town and therefore that drew people in. Now with it being closed it has to rely on other nearby cities to draw new people in.

There's nothing really bad to say as it is conveniently located near 8 Mile and Woodward which both happen to be major roads. It isn't far from the expressway and therefore accessibility is definitely there for residents who live here. Many people find that you can get a lot for your money and still be close to the amenities that a city like Ferndale holds which is really only a mile away.

This is still a bit of a hike from the city itself and that may deter some interested in the neighborhood. Though it's not that far, it is certainly not in the center of things. You are closer to the suburbs but that may mean more accessible nightlife and restaurants and even some good school choices.

It's not that there's anything bad or even really great to say about the area, it's just an average neighborhood that falls sort of in the middle in terms of amenities and attraction.
Pros
  • Close to Suburbs and Amenities
  • 8 mile and Woodward close by for travel
  • Nice homes in a clean neighborhood

"Change is Coming"

The bad news is that Grandmont had become rather run down over the years. The good news is that change is coming! There are groups and associations that are focused on this area amongst others nearby and they are working hard to make change come here.

This is an area of town that never really had anything wrong with it, but its best days were behind it. It proved to be a great location right near some of the major roads through town and an expressway. It has a park nearby and was never really too far from amenities. Therefore it had some great things going onf or it but yet it just didn't have a great appeal to it.

Times are changing and with the efforts and hard work of the neighborhood assocation and other groups, this area is truly being brought back to life. It's still not at 100% of what it was, but it has some great things happening and therefore some fantastic potential.

This is the type of area that many hope to use as guideline for what is possible within the city of Detroit. Though there is still plenty of work to do, this is an area that may very well be the sort of neighborhood that it was years back. This is great news for the people of this neighborhood and for those that may be interested in moving here in the future.
Pros
  • A Lot of Attention Being Paid Here
  • Many Updates Happening

"Not a Good Place to Live"

When you consider that there are other neighborhoods nearby that have some great features to them, it's a shame that this one is not in the same category. Unfortunately this is an area of town where you really wouldn't want to live or even recommend somebody to visit.

Through the years it has become quite worn down and now there is very little to offer prospective buyers. Though you could get a good home for the money here, that's about the only draw. A lot of work is needed to bring this area back and that's what has kept many people away from buying a home here. Though it's not far from other areas that have amenities, it would be more desirable to look elsewhere in most cases.

If the money is given and the attention dedicated, this area could come back. It is close to the expressway which makes it very accessible. It's just one of those areas that has sort of died off and many hope that it like other areas of the city will somehow come back. For the here and now though, there isn't much to offer and therefore it's just not a great area to live in or visit.

"Apartment Living and Close to Everything"

The area of Gold Coast specifically that is considered its own little neighborhood is admittedly small. It's really just one apartment building in the area that is actually part of Gold Coast specifically. The biggest draw to this area however is that it really is close to everything!

There is a lot of rich history to Gold Coast and you can see that when you come here. It is located just off of Jefferson and is an excellent waterfront part of town. You have great access and views of the water, are close to much of the amenities in the downtown area since it's just off of Jefferson, and you're even close to some great parks.

You are also close to a very desirable part of town such as Indian Village and that's what makes this so closely associated with a neighborhood such as that. There may not be much to this neighborhood on its own in terms of living options, but what you do find is top notch.

You will never be far from anything, never be at a loss for something to do, and you will love the view of the water that you have here. It continues to grow and is therefore a great spot within town. Perhaps more housing options could be added, but otherwise it's a nice littles spot within town.

"A Nice Sense of Community"

This is an area that has been big and yet still continues to draw people in. It is located on the outskirts of town, close to other good neighborhoods and that may help its draw. People are moving here as they can get a great deal on the housing. Homeowners are also finding that there is a nice sense of community here.

You will find plenty of families with kids here and even some original homeowners. It is like any other neighborhood in the area in that there is crime but it's not out of control. Therefore people feel safe here and that is part of what brings people to the area.

You will also find since it's located not only near major roads in the area, but also near the Southfield expressway that you have plenty of amenities. You can get to just about anything relatively quickly and therefore you don't have to worry about convenience. If you want a good value for your home and a nice sense of community then this makes for a good well rounded choice.
Pros

"You Wont Find Much Here"

This is known more as an industrial area and not much of a neighborhood. The most notable spot to live here is in the Forest Park apartments, but even those aren't much of a draw. The location of this in and of itself isn't that desirable since it's literally just off of the I-75 freeway and therefore the noise can be distracting.

It is close to the Medical Center and to Wayne State university so in terms of convenience it was helpful in its day for the proximity. However there isn't much to speak of here, no real neighborhoods, no great houses, and there arent' many housing options to choose from. Perhaps this was different back in the day but now it's rather barren and desolate.

There could be potential to build here or to add in some housing, particularly with the location. Its location just off of the expressway may not be desirable for some. It works well as an industrial area and therefore may be best suited for that, even into the future.

"Not Too Bad"

This is an area in town that happens to be located just on the border of Detroit and nearby Redford so it has some appeal in that sense. This was a hot spot back in the day, but even now it has some good points to speak of. You can get a good deal on the housing here and that draws a lot of young families into the area.

There are good schools, decent restaurants and nightlife, and therefore it's not a bad little area. It tends to be associated more with Redford and that may hoold appeal for some that want more of a suburb or community feel. It happens to be located close to some major roads, all of which have amenities nearby. So you will never be lacking for the convenience of getting to the things that you want in a hurry.

This is an area where you can get a lot for your money and where you can find some great neighborly spirit. It is a blend of new homeowners who want a good investment value and original homeowners and their families. You can find it all here and that's why many are moving to this area on the outskirts of town.

"Just Not Much of a Draw"

The good news is that this neighborhood is located close to University of Detroit Mercy and that's been the big draw to it for years. The bad news is that's about it! You will find that buses are running all the time for those that need to the school, but you won't find many people getting off to head to this neighborhood.

This used to be a bustling neighborhood and a hot spot for students and faculty to live. The fact that it is located just off of the Lodge freeway was always a big draw. Now the area has become more of an eyesore for those that pass by it on this very expressway. This is the depiction that many people have when they think of Detroit, complete with boarded up homes and unsavory characters.

This is another area in need of some revitalization dollars. It is still yet to be determined if the fact that it is located close to a major local university will help that to happen. There really aren't other amenities to speak of in the area with the exception of this school and so there is a lot of work to be done here if people are to be drawn to the area.
Pros
  • The University is the Main Draw

If you want to live in the downtown Detroit area but feel like you have your own little piece of private luxury then this is the place to be! Many who are interested in being a part of the downtown revolution and who have some money to spend are finding that this is an excellent match.

The homes are beautiful here, the most notable are the recognizable brownstones that line the area. You can find some great lofts here, but know that along with these gorgeous homes comes a bit of a price tag. If you have some money to spend and want to be a part of the action then this is a great match.

This may not be the best spot for families with kids as schools are still an issue as with many other areas of Detroit. There are a lot of amenities nearby but they are mostly focused on nightlife and great restaurants that have become a recognizable part of the area.

This area is up and coming, near the waterfront, and very close to all the action. The homes are fantastic, the amenities are plenty, and you will never be lacking for things to do in and around here. A true sense of community exists here amongst the fellow homeowners who have sought out their own little spot in the city.

"In Need of Some Help"

The problem with this neighborhood is that it's on the outskirts of town and therefore feels like it's been sort of forgotten about. It's a little rough around here in that the crime is on the higher end and it's been that way for awhile. There is plenty of property available but unfortunately there aren't a lot of people interested in living in this part of town.

It used to be great as it was located near some great adjacent neighborhods and not far from the Southfield freeway. It's also situated near Joy Road which used to have some great shops, but they don't exist quite like they used to. It is located close to other good neighborhoods that have much to offer, but this seems to have been lost in the shuffle somehow.

Since it is an area that is in need of some help, many hope that some revitalization efforts and money will be put into it. Unfortunately it hasn't happened yet and despite the good investment potential, it's hard for people to want to spend when they aren't sure of what the future holds for this area.

Hopefully help will be on the way and this will again become a great neighborhood.

"Great Things Happening Here!"

What a great area of town! You not only are situated in a fabulous location right near the waterfront, but you have some pretty great amenities nearby. This is an accessible area of town as it is close to Jefferson and the expressways. You have hospitals nearby, great shopping, and some fantastic nightlife including some of the best restaurants in town.

This is an area that started out as a historic district and still holds true to that side of things. It was however one of the first areas within Detroit get attention and money for revitalization efforts. People really saw that this area had much to offer and therefore invested in that potential.

It's a safe area and really offers that true downtown feeling. You will never be at a loss for things to do as you are close to everything and you can easily enjoy all that Detroit has to offer. "In Serious Need of Revitalization"

This is one of those areas that people of the city of Detroit aren't very proud of. This used to be such a fantastic area years back with a beautiful park, wonderful amenities, and a great draw in terms of housing. The problem is that it wasn't kept up and therefore it looks almost like a ghost town.

This is an accessible part of town since it's located close to the main road of Telegraph and one of the main expressways of I-96. That's really one of the only draws because there's not much else here to pull people in. Additionally you have to drive a bit far to get to any sort of store or restaurant if you live in the area.

It used to be a great area but it has become rundown through the years. This is very well one of the areas of town that those in charge of revitalization efforts should look to first. It has great potential and if it was just cleaned up a bit and some money was put into restoring what was once natural beauty, then it very well could make a comback.

In the meantime however, this is not an area that you'd want to visit or live for most people.
Pros

"Not the Best but Not the Worst"

Overalll this is definitely not the best part of town, but it's certainly not the worst either. On one hand you have some great parks nearby which is a draw for families with children. You will also find that you can get a lot for your m oney here. In terms of nightlife or amenities there isn't much directly in the community, but you're not too far from anything else.

You will find that in this location you aren't far from areas such as Oak Park or even Ferndale and that offers some great dining and shopping options. Though you do have to leave the community to get to them they aren't far. It's an area where you can get a good house for a low price, but you will also find that there is a great need for revitalization here too.

This is one of those areas that isn't bad enough that it would be the first to get money towards revitalization. Unfortunately it doesn't have that much to offer directly and so it's not necessarily drawing in a lot of people on their own.

"A True Epicenter of the Downtown Area"

If you love the combination of big city living and yet want to enjoy some of the amenities of a small town, then this is a great spot for you. So many people visit Eastern Market throughout the year to get their food and yet they may not realize that this is a great part of town to live in.

People come from all over the area, particularly in the warmer months, to get fresh produce and flowers, fresh meat and bread, and experience a true sense of community. This has been a landmark since the 1800's and continues to draw people in for the excellent marketplace feeling that many long for. Though there are other areas of town that offer weekly farmer's market, nothing is quite like Eastern Market!

In terms of living you have some great amenities right at your fingertips. It's a great and very safe area of town to live in, and if you want a loft then there are some great ones to choose from. This is and will likely continue to be one of the best areas of town to live in and it is therefore a popular destination!

"A Great Area With Nice Features"

This is one of those areas of town that people would flock to if they knew about it. Somehow this community seems to be a well kept secret just inside the borders of Grosse Pointe Park. It is not only in and around the Grosse Pointe proper area, but it has some great features in and of itself.

It's really a small area of town as compared to others of its kind so it has that small town sort of feel. Thjough it may be small it offers great features such as nearby parks and trails, a great hospital, and some amenities like a great movie theater and some restaurants. You really can't go wrong here and yet you aren't paying the top price that you would in neighboring communities.

It is also right there near the waterfront and therefore you get a lot for your money. The cost of living may be a bit higher but it truly delivers in terms of what you get for that investment. This is a great area of town and one well worth checking out!

"Definitely Room for Improvement"

When you consider that this area has such a rich history to it, you can only imagine what it must have been like back in the day. Though there are still some historic areas intact, this is an area in need of a bit of revitalization. Sure it's close enough to the city and has some amenities nearby, but there is definitely room for improvement.

You can get in and around this part of town pretty easily, and that's one of the pros. You will find however that there isn't much for children to do or even much nightlife nearby. In the days when this was a thriving area then this must have been a different scene but it's changed as so many areas of town have.

There is hope that areas like this that are somehwere in the middle will come along and improve through time. Though it's not the worst part of town it's not the best either, and so there is plenty of room for some much needed changes.

"Trying to Improve and Getting There"

This is on the edge of town and it is one of the most close knit communities that you may find. The nice part is that it's close enough to the city for the nightlife and the great amenities, and yet it's removed enough to feel like a small town. It's a pretty safe area and home to many families with children.

Though the area has gone through some changes recently, it is continuously improving. The community comes together on a regular basis to make improvements and push forward together. This is a noble gesture and shows the committment and tie of the neighbors.

This is close to stores and restaurants and so it's situation it a great spot. It also happens to be close to major roads and not far from the expressway so it's very accessible. This is overall a great place to move, particularly if you have kids and want that true neighborhood feeling.

"Great for History in a Small Community"

This is a great area of town as it happens to be the city's oldest standing neighborhood. While it's true that it had much more activity when the old Tiger's Stadium was here, there are still some great businesses and homes within the community. It has great potential for the future and is a safe area of town.

Corktown has rich history as ancestors used to settle here. This is a mostly residential area though having Tigers Stadium was a big deal for the residents and businesses here. Some of the businesses folded when the stadium relocated in the downtown area. Others still stand for the history that they offer and many people are loyal to them.

There is great hope that something wonderful will become of the area that the stadium previously stood on. Though the community still stands, it could use something wonderful like a main attraction. The casinos nearby help but it could use its own little feature to boast of.

"Practically a Ghost Town"

This is one of the sad realities of Detroit and why so many are pushing for more and more revitalization. Back in the day this was such a thriving area of town and now it is almost completely abandoned. Those that once knew this as an industrial hot spot feel saddened by the amount of destruction and abandoned buildings that stand here.

This was once a great industrial area and had the makes of a thriving community. With businesses and residents flocking to suburbs and areas outside of town, this area started to crumble years back. Though there are some areas of town that have residents, there's not a whole lot here to speak of.

The streets are full of trash, the buildings and homes sit abandoned, and the area as a whole is in desperate need of revitalization. This is in huge contrast to other areas of town that have been the subject of rejuvenation methods. Many hope that this area of town can somehow come back to life someday in the near future.

"Small But Gorgeous Area of Town"

Bordering up to Grosse Pointe which happens to be one of the most affluent areas in Michigan, this is a fabulous community. It is small but the homes here are beautiful. You can see just riding down the street that these homes are in a different categoryt than some of the nearby communities.

The tree lined streets lead up to a nice offering of homes and though many are very elaborate, some are a bit more modest. This is an area of town where you need some money to find the right housing. It is located within the Detroit area but that is mroe associated with nearby Grosse Pointe than with the city as a whole.

It is close enough to the waterfront that it offers a feature in and of itself. It is smaller than other communities but that may add to its allure. It's a great community to be a part of but expect to pay more and to have a few less amenities than larger areas of its kind.

"Near the Water and Other Nice Features"

If you've been to downtown Detroit before, chances are that you have seen the landmark Alden Park apartments. That's a big part of this area of town as they stand high above and are close to the waterfront. They are a desirable aspect of living downtown offering safety and a nice atmosphere.

Though Alden Park itself doesn't offer much in terms of amenities, it is located just minutes from all the great features of downtown Detroit. It is close to the waterfront and that offers a benefit in and of itself to many. You will find that this is also a community that is also very accessible since it is located right near the main expressway of I-75 and the main road of Woodward that runs all throughout the city.

This is a great choice if you want to live downtown but want a bit of peace and quiet. Though there is plenty nearby you don't have to fight the crowds to make it through your day. "Hope for the Future"

This is one of those neighborhoods within Detroit where you see some potential. Though not a lot of houses are selling, the average cost is going up. Many are hopeful that perhaps the worst has already come for this area of town that is in need of a bit of revitalization.

There is hope that this once thriving community will get back to that status with the right help and tools. It has great amenities nearby such as a shopping area and access to the main expressway running through it. It has nearby parks and was once a popular place for people to live who worked at the Detroit Diesel headquarters.

It is hopeful that the best is yet to come as many look to an area such as this with the desire for a better future. You can however get in on a great investment here and that makes it a good choice for those that can invest and perhaps work on a house that is in need of it.

"A Great Place to Live"

Not only is this location accessible with access to a major expressway closeby, but it has so many wonderful features. You feel safe here and it's an excellent community for familes. Some of the main attractions of this area of town also happen to be what draw people in to live here.

The two main attractions of this neighborhood are the water park and the library. This is the only water park in town and is therefore a hot spot in the warm summer months. The library is part of this community and that's a huge benefit for families with children, particularly when other options are limited.

There are also some great parks nearby and therefore many families are finding this an excellent choice. It is affordable as the homes are a bit older, but you can get a great value for your investment. For the families that want amenities for thier children and who are interested in living within the city of Detroit, this is by far the best choice out there.

"A Great Little Area"

This is a nice aera that just so happens to be close to everything. It is quite accessible with the main I-75 expressway running right through this community. it's close to the Downriver community and that means plenty of amenities nearby.

It's not too huge but not too small and therefore it's a nice mix somewhere in the middle. You may not find many restaurants or stores in the town directly, but they are close enough to get to. You are situated right between the Downriver community and the downtown Detroit area and therefore it's a good choice for people.

If you work nearby you will find this to be a great spot. This is a safe area that continues to be a popular choice.

"A Big Ethnic Area"

This town was named for the number of Chaldean Christian immigrants who settled here years back. Many who moved here from other areas of the world often started off here and then decided where they would settle within the Detroit area. It is a town that still has a good Chaldean population but not as much as it used to.

It is located close to some amenities on both the surrounding Woodward and 7 Mile Roads. It has a park nearby and so it's not a desolate area at all. It is however not the thriving community that it once was. When the State Fair Grounds closed a few years back that had a negative impact on this area.

There is still great potential in this community and it is quite accessible. It's easy to get around, has plenty nearby, and there is hope that it will continue to grow in the future.

"Not An Ideal Area"

This is one of rhose unfortunate areas of the city that is in need of some revitalization help. The truth is that Brightmoor was never a hugely popular area with great amenities, but it did have a more vibrant community at one time. This was a much older community and years back consisted of many senior citizens. It was believed that many of the homes just never found new owners as the years went by.

The bright spot of this area is the fact that it is ocated close to several parks. It has a great deal of beauty in these parks and has great potential for families with children. It is located close to the neighboring city of Redford, but even that and the amenities located nearby havent brought this area back to life.

This is an area at the forefront of many revitalization efforts and so many hope that it will be brought back. There is great potential but the way it stands right now this is not an ideal area.

"Great Potential in the Future"

Briggs is one of those neighborhoods that is mixed in the sense that is is barren but being improved upon. This is unfortunately the depiction that you see on the news that has become the standard for the city of Detroit, but it's only half of the story. Though one half of town is desserted and stands idle, the other half is being built up and has great plans for it.

This is close to the old Tiger Stadium and perhaps that's part of the problem. When that came down so too did the desire for the area and the potential that it held. It happens to be close to the Motor City Casino and therefore gets visitors nearby each and every day. There are in fact great plans for revitalization and rebuilding in this area and that means a lot of potential for many.

This is an area that you will likely see rebuilt very soon, and that holds promise. Though it was once a thriving area many hope it will get back to that very soon.

"Not the Greatest Area"

This is an area within the city of Detroit that is in need of some updating. When you look at the cost of the houses here it tells the story as they are low and for the taking. Many of the homes would make good investments, but the problem is that this is not the most desirable area of town.

Though this was once a desirable area of town, many of the homes have become rundown and are in need of major updates. For the individual who has a keen eye for restoration and the budget to follow then this can make for a good investment. You will be close to many of the downtown amenities, but you won't necessarily have that many of them right around the corner.

This is an area that will hopefully enjoy some great udpates in the near future. It has great character as a smaller community but just needs the vehicle by which to get there somehow.

"Older Community On the Outskirts of Town"

When you look at the average age of the residents of Boynton you can see that it is an older community. Many who live here are a bit older and may very well be original owners. There aren't a lot of updates here, but there is a lot of community spiriti.

This is a community that happnes to be quite accessible to everything. It is located just off of the I-75 expressway and is therefore close to everything. It's easy to access and is actually closer to the Downriver community than the Detroit city limits. This may be a desirable feature to some that don't want to pay a lot for city living but want the covenience of it.

If you are interested in living in an older community then this could be a great fit. It is conveniently located close to many of the amenities in the Downriver community and is therefore a nice change from other communities that are more city driven. You can get a lot for your money here too and that counts for a lot in this day and age!

"A Cute Little Area of Town"

This is a smaller and rather quiet area of town. It's pretty average in terms of what it has to offer and yet it draws in interest in terms of home. This used to be a thriving area for commerce and business, but that's not the case as much anymore. You should know though that this is an area that is the topic of revitalization efforts.

The great part about this area of town is that it is quiet enough to feel like a small town. It does however offer an easy commute to get to some of the downtown attractions and amenities. You aren't far from what you need to get to and therefore it's a nice mix of small town and big city.

The cost of housing is low here and that may draw people in on its own. It may continue to be an area for those that just want to be off the beaten path.

"A Nice Place to Visit"

Belle Isle is known for many of the activities on it, but not as much about the living conditions. Though there are homes there they are scattered and a bit more expensive than most can afford. In its hey day this was a wonderful place to visit and to enjoy the boating activities, but many of the attractions have closed.

Belle Isle continues to be a great place to enjoy nature and the water in warmer months. It continues to be home to the Detroit Yacht Club and that historical landmark is a main attraction. It used to hold a marina, conservatory, and children's zoo, but those closed years back due to budget constraints.

Unfortunately with these closings came the reality that this was not the safest area of town. Though it may be a nice place to visit, it may not make the best place to live.

"Somewhere in the Middle"

This is an area of town that's not the best but certainly not the worst. The nice part of this neighborhood is that you have plenty nearby including restaurants, stores, and conveniences. You just may not find everything that you need. It is not far from the I-96 expressway so it's certainly easy to get to and around.

There are several schools within this area so it can be helpful for those with children. It is an area of town that has undergone some changes and therefore revitalization is needed and up and coming. There are some homes to be found which are a great value and some which need a bit of attention. Therefore it's really somewhere in the middle.

It is part of the downtown area but a bit more removed. While you can get to the amenities and nightlife of downtown Detroit, it's not as easy as other areas that are closer by. This is a spot where you can find a good deal on a home, but it may not be your very first choice.

"Beautiful Homes in a Large and Sprawling Area"

Brush Park has it all including the beautiful and elaborate Victorian homes that Detroit has been associated with. Though you don't see as many of these throughout the city, they still remain and stand beautifully in this area of town. This is a rather large area sprawling out 24 area blocks.

This is in the heart of the city and where much of the rennovation is taking place to revitalize what was once a vibrant area. Many are getting in on the act and getting homes now while the cost of living still remains low and the value large. There are some fantastic attributes to this area of town, particularly its' close proximity to everything in the downtown area.

Many seek this out as a great area of town as it is so close to the I-75 expressway and nearby the Lodge freeway as well. It makes it an accessible area of town and it happens to be very safe. Families are enjoying the beautiful large homes here and this is an area that has drawn much attention for the potential investments that these homes hold.

"Rather Average Community"

The great part of the Bagley neighborhood is that it's small and therefore easy to navigate through. It's not necessarily in the best part of town, but it's not in the worst area either. It is accessible since it's smack dab in the middle of the western part of the city of Detroit.

There is some great history here as it is where Honeybaked Ham was started and where commerce for the city began to really thrive. Unfortunately some of the area hasn't kept up nor has the ability to attract a lot of new or outside business. There is just one school located in town which is Bagley and this therefore speaks to the small town feel of this area of town.

You can feel safe walking around here, but won't find many amenitities nearby. Amongst the outstanding features are nearby Palmer Park which has been around for years and is a nice attraction for kids. You will also find that other parks and areas are nearby which can work well for children.

It is located close to the Lodge expressway so it's quite accessible. Since it's a quiter area of town you may find parking and just getting around to be easier than other areas. Do keep in mind that since it is within Detroit specifically you will find that many attractions are close and easy to get to from this area.

Nothing bad but nothing exceptional about this neighborhood overall, but in general a good cost of living.
