"Not the best place to live or visit."
While the neighborhoods behind this area are "okay"... I wouldn't live here.
In Charlotte, the streets generally divide one "area" from another. This side of Harris, between here and Plaza/Milton, is pretty much a low income, not well taken care of area. The people are noisy, the homeowners don't seem to take pride in their property, and honestly I wasn't too comfortable with the gunshots at night.
Because this area of Charlotte is so quickly expanding, I'd probably be safe to assume that the area won't get much better. Emphasis is being put on shopping and University-related things, but not on property values.
You're better off on the other side of Harris, toward Cabarrus County.
