"Small Connector Street"
Unlike this street's longer extension in Mountain View, San Antonio Road in Palo Alto is a small, blink-and-you-miss-it connector immediately off of the interstate. The street is home to a very nice, new condominium complex as well as the JCC and some retail space for rent. Other than that, there is not much here.
Surprisingly, the traffic here, while somewhat busy, never seems to be as terrible as some of the other spots in town (namely, closer to University Avenue). This is surprising, especially considering the number of shopping plazas in the area, the closest one being on Charleston Road in Mountain View. Given the slightly industrial feel, the highway noise and the lack of places within walking distances, the area is not quite as posh as some of the other Palo Alto condos and residences.
So while this is not the most exciting spot to live on the Peninsula or even in town, it does have some benefits.
