"The No Man's Land of Bridges"
Driving on this bridge is a bit of a strange experience, primarily because the thing crosses one of the widest parts of the bay, and is the longest bridge in the SF Bay Area. It is over seven miles long, and offers stunning views of the entire bay.
You will feel like you are in the bay forever because of the length, and the speed of traffic speaks to the length of the bridge. Despite the daunting length and massive exposure, other commuters like to push the speed limits and crank through this bridge as fast as possible. I recommend the right lane if you have any aversion to driving on here.
Like the neighboring Dumbarton Bridge to the south and Bay Bridge to the north, there is a $4 westbound toll and no eastbound toll.
