Ansley Park

Ansley Park is comprised of peaceful, charming streets where almost everyone takes great care of their yards and homes. The architecture is honestly the best I've seen in any Atlanta neighborhood (and I know a thing or two about architecture!). The parks are quiet and clean, unlike some neighborhood parks that are located next to super busy roads. When you are in Ansley Park you wouldn't know that you were in the middle of a busy city because it's so green and quiet and well-kept. But once you step out of the neighborhood, you are surrounding by the beautiful heart of Atlanta. Ansley Park is not only aesthetically beautiful, but is also filled with history, culture, and interesting homes and stories. The neighborhood is home to a community of kids, teens, and parents. Everyone at least knows someone their age in the neighborhood. There are social oppurtunities for adults, like Neigborhood Diners. You know what? I could go on for hours writing about how amazing Ansley Park is, so I'll just say one more thing: when I'm walking through this neighborhood, time stops. I can't describe how amazing Ansley Park is. I just can't do it justice.
Oh, one more thing! You can easily walk to Ansley Mall, The High Museum, The Botanical Gardens, Piedmont Park, and surrounding areas from the neighborhood. I actually do have one bad thing to say about Ansley park: it is confusing. A lot of people who go there for the first time get lost because the blocks aren't in normal squares. But personally, that makes it even more beautiful! :)

Ansley Park is a quiet community tucked away in Atlanta’s Midtown region just north of Piedmont Park. I always enjoyed this community because of the preservation of green space as well as it’s locale.

This region features beautiful historic homes that capture the essence of Atlanta from the 1930s 40s and 50s. Ansley Golf Club, the area’s private golf course adds to the scenic urban feel. Most of the residents in this community seem to be middle aged ranging from late 30s to well over 70 +. This factor makes the area very conservative as it does not feature many night clubs of pubs. Ansley Mall Shopping Center is a must visit in order to get a feel for the residents of this area. Although the shopping center seems to date as far back as the 70s, the shops here still compliment the interest of the residents of Ansley Park. I especially love the running store Phidippides. If you like to take an occasional jog/stroll through Piedmont park, this store has an awesome staff that can help you find the running shoes that are perfect for you. Ansley Park is the perfect community for young professionals or students who still have a love affair with Atlanta but need a quiet, more serene neighborhood

Once I wrote the title for this review, I thought I may have been a little unfair. The reason? Cost is relative. For those who can afford million dollar homes, then the conveniences associated with Ansley Park are not costly, they are acceptable. For those who can afford to live in large, stately homes, with tree lined streets on top of hills with long and winding driveways, then the price point becomes irrelevant.

When you think about it, price is relative when it comes to everything Ansley Park has to offer. What makes the neighborhood even more great is the fact that it is virtually in downtown Atlanta. With that being said, all the art, culture, entertainment, fine dining, and access that Atlanta offers is right there for the residents of Ansley Park. Are they paying for it? Sure, but if you can't afford it then you wouldn't be looking into living in the area. Right?

What's not to love about Ansley Park? If you can image yourself in a $750,000 (or much more) home on tree-topped rolling hills in the middle of downtown Atlanta, Ansley Park is the place for you. This community takes the Arts, culture and social activities, and downtown outdoor living quite seriously. Just minutes from the Robert Woodruff Arts Center, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the High Museum of Art, the Ansley Playhouse, eclectic shops, boutiques of every shape and size, coffee shops and restaurants galore - if you cannot find something to do in and around this neighborhood, I am afraid you cannot be helped! Although there is a fair amount of traffic on major area streets like Piedmont Road and Monroe Drive, Ansley Park is a completely walkable community with lots to offer. In fact on any given Saturday, you will see moms with strollers, joggers with their dogs, bicyclers, and skateboarders outside taking in the fresh air. Ansley Park is an escape from the congestion of Peachtree Street. As you turn onto The Prado (one of my favorite streets there), the noise and bustle of Piedmont Road seems to melt away. Ansley is a little oasis in the middle of a major city. If in the area, check out another favorite street, Inman Circle, with its breathtaking, historic southern homes with big veranda porches and well-appointed gardens. So I ask again, what's not to love about Ansley Park? Well, it's not cheap. Although homes closer to Ansley Park Golf Course and Ansley Shopping Mall can be a bit more affordable, and you can sometimes find apartment rentals in a wide range of prices here. But, if you want a beautiful neighborhood, convenient to everything cultural, this is the price you have to pay!
