"Historic and New, All at the Same Time"

Cascade Heights is an exceptional Atlanta neighborhood. I couldn't agree more with the other reviews on this very sophisticated and upwardly mobile community. Many professionals and those well established in the Atlanta community call Cascade Heights home, and for good reasons too. I love the mix of mid century modern homes and newer homes that offer residents of the area many housing options. I appreciate the public and private golf courses that are close by as well as the ample green space for all members of the community to enjoy.

I further appreciate the fact that all this luxury and high end suburban style living is just a few minutes drive from the city and everything that has to offer. That is one of the most attractive things about living in Atlanta in general. So many communities that could and are described as suburban in development and style, as well as amenities are just right outside the city limits. I don't know anyone who wouldn't enjoy living in the Cascade Heights community. It's great!

"Recreation Opportunities Galore"

Ashley Courts is a great Atlanta neighborhood. Why, you ask? Well one thing about the residents of Ashley Courts is they have tremendous opportunity to engage in recreational activities. With Melvin Drive park on one side and Utoy and Herbert Greene Park on the other and Niskey Lake right around the corner, what more could you ask for?

At a time when not enough of us take the time to physically get out of the house and enjoy the great outdoors, residents of Ashley Court can and do. Water activities including fishing and boating, and then land based activities from bike riding to walking trails, golf and ball fields, its a lot that can be enjoyed. There are even dark parks and dog trails for the family pet.

This would be a great neighborhood for anyone who likes having natural amenities at their fingertips. This is also a great neighborhood for those who like nature right in the middle of the city.

"Pretty Nice Place to Live"

Ansley Drive Northeast is a nicely maintained neighborhood and community. There are beautiful homes with a variety of styles, from stucco fronts to three quarter brick two stories. You can tell residents of the community take pride in where they live as evidence by how nicely everything is kept. You don't see way ward trash on the street, or too many yards that are unkempt. People really do care about where they live. Homes are recessed from the street with long, sweeping front lawns. Children have plenty of room to romp and play.

There may not be too many recreational facilities close by but there are still plenty of places to get in some exercise or a good brisk walk. Resale values in the community are comparable to other areas. The housing market is struggling everywhere but the good thing about Ansley Drive is that there are not too many houses on the market or available for rent.

This a great community for families and children, professionals, retirees, students (if they can afford it) and anyone who would enjoy a little bit of suburban life.

"Nothing to Write Home About"

Amal Heights is a nice neighborhood, but nothing to really write home about. There are no real stand out features, nothing really exciting that would make you want to tell somebody about. It's an average community in an average section of the greater Atlanta area.

Now, I am sure residents of Amal Heights probably feel differently. Of course, most people would like to think there was something good about where they live, unless they are living there by default. But nice is not necessarily a bad thing. Some of the things that make a neighborhood or area notable could be good or bad - nice homes and amenities are good - high crime would be bad. So being somewhere in the middle with no extremes to either side could really be a good thing.

The Amal Heights neighborhood is the kind of community that most people would be satisfied in living in. As long as you are not looking for loads of entertainment, and exciting night life, you would probably be okay living in the neighborhood, but as I said before, it's nothing to write home about.
Pros
  • nice neighborhood
  • homes and neighborhood are decently maintained
  • good schools in the area

"Green Spaces and Lakes to Enjoy"

Residents of Cascade Green have the benefit of several small lakes and Melvin Drive Park to take advantage of. If that is not enough, the neighborhood is located very close to interstate 285 that takes residents of the city all the way around the center of Atlanta, making access to things not directly found in the community relatively accessible.

Residents of Cascade Green display neighborly spirit as evidenced by the way in which they maintain their homes and yards, and care for their community in general. Resale in the Cascade Green neighborhood is about the same as anywhere else, considering the housing market. This is a great neighborhood and community for just about any one who enjoys lake and water conveniences, outdoor fitness and fun, and great neighborhood spirit.

"Great for the Outdoorsman"

Although near the heart of the city, Washington Heights Terrace Northwest is great for the outdoorsman. I'm sure you are thinking, "whatever could she mean, great for the outdoorsman?" Well, let me explain. When I refer to the outdoorsman, I am not talking about the hard core, camouflage wearing, rifle toting, deer shooting kind. If you don't know, this is coming from a city girl's perspective. An outdoorsman, in this context, refers to someone who does not require the conventions of air conditioning, four walls and electronics to be thoroughly entertained and happy.

With that being said, the fact that plenty of outdoor living, recreating, fitness and fun can be had in the fantastic parks within the Washington Heights community, is really what I mean when I say great for the outdoorsman. Washington Park is huge! It even has its own community club. And if Washington Park is too overwhelming, then residents or more specifically their children, have the benefit of Ashby Circle Playlot right nearby. Between the two parks, residents can enjoy bike trails, walking paths, picnic areas, ball fields, play areas for the children, and plenty of wide open green space where they can create their own recreation and fun.
Pros
  • fantastic outdoor spaces
  • parks within the community
  • great schools in the area

  • far from the beaten path (not necessarily a con for some)
  • not close to major interstates or retail shopping

"Close to Senior Living"

Beecher Road Southwest in the Westwood Terrace community can be described as quiet.... for a variety of reasons. The primary reason is that the most prominent feature of the neighborhood is the Sue's Benevolent Care Home. Need I say More?

All roads seem to lead to the Benevolent Care Home. For some, this is a very attrative feature. Traffic is not robust, noise levels are kept to a minimum, and lights out are around 8:30 p.m. However, for those who may need a more active and lively community or neighborhood to live in, then Beecher Road Southwest near Sue's Benevolent Care Home is not the answer. Public transportation does not exist. Local conveniences are readily available, with some located inside the senior resident home.

This neighborhood is recommended for those who have an affinity and an appreciation for peace and a whole lot of quiet. If interactivity and spirited living are more your style, then this neighborhood is certainly not for you.

"Some would Consider Better than Average"

The neighborhood of Wyngate in Atlanta, by some standards, would be considered better than average. However, that assessment is all relative. There are some benefits to residing in the Wyngate community such as the fact that there are two parks, West Wesley and Sibley park within the community. Another feature that some may consider enticing is the fact that the Peachtree Shopping Center is located close by. Others would even determine the fact that there is access to a few dominant thoroughfares as an advantage to living in the Wyngate community.

However, others would consider the fact that outside of Peachtree Shopping Center (which in and of itself is not necessarily notable or known for its high end and fashionable retail shopping) residents of Wyngate are somewhat detached from some of the most important things that make Atlanta great like downtown, fine dining establishments, day and night entertainment, culture and the arts. Others would also consider that although the neighborhood is located to some main thoroughfares, they are not major interstates and connective links that connect the city to the suburbs.

With that being said, for some, Wyngate could be or could not be considered better than average.

"Close to Airport"

No, not the infamous Hartsfield Jackson Airport, but the smaller Fulton County Airport Brown Field. As such, the noise level is not the best. Of course, its not as bad as if the neighborhood was close to the much larger airport, but an airport is an airport and plane noise is plane noise.

There are some benefits of living in the Collier Heights neighborhood, outside of great access to the airport. Residents also have the benefit of being located to two major interstates and some great green spaces. Collier Heights does not have a lot of qualities to point to that would encourage someone to want to move to the area. Homes in the area are mid to low range in price and maintenance, and not well maintained.

Shopping options are limited, and general amenities are absent.

"Historic Colleges Around Every Corner"

Atlanta University Center is home to some of the most notable historically black colleges and universities in the United States: Spelman, Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, and Morris Brown. These prominent universities draw the cream of the crop students in pursuit of higher education at prestigious universities.

Because of the schools, housing in the area is affordable, public transportation is readily accessible, and local conveniences cater to the student populations budget. Residents of AU Center also have the advantage of a great location. Little Five Points, a popular artistic and eclectic community is in close proximity, as it Midtown, Downtown, and Buckhead.

This is a great neighborhood for not only students, but professionals, the trendy and stylish, and anyone else who likes affordable housing, great local amenities, and a great location.

"Historic Names Abound"

On one side is Ralph David Abernathy, and on the other is Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Mozley Park is also flanked by the physical park by the same name and Green Leaf Circle Park. Harris Chesley Park is just right down the road. Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University and several other historically black colleges and universities are neighbors to Mozley Park.

With all that history, culture, art, and eclectic wonderfulness readily accessible, Mozley Park has some advantageous other neighborhoods could only dream of. Housing and other amenities tend to be relatively low and affordable because businesses tend to cater to the student population.

There is some noise, some crime, some grime, and some issues that may be considered unsavory, but overall, Mozley Park has a lot of great things for residents to look forward to.

"College Bound"

Hunter Hills is a neighborhood located near several historically black colleges and universities and is the direct neighbor to Clark Atlanta University. There are a great many benefits to the Hunter Hills residents, and not just their physical proximity to higher education. Where there are institutions of higher learning, there are reduced housing accommodations, and local restaurants and stores that provide good food, and services at a cost most students can afford.

The other nice thing about the Hunter Hill neighborhood is the fact that its right off historic Martin Luther King Jr Drive. A little bit of Atlanta and national history are readily available to those who seek to find it. Residents of Hunter Hill can enjoy Anderson Park and many other smaller parks for fitness and plenty of healthy recreation.

Public transportation is easily accessed, good schools are within the community, and local conveniences are readily accessible. Hunter Hill is a decent Atlanta neighborhood.

"A Great Location"

Inman Park is one of the nicer communities and neighborhoods in Atlanta for a number of reasons. Some of the more obvious reasons include the fact that it is located very close to downtown and all the advantages downtown have to offer, its located near major intersections and thoroughfares, and there is plenty of green space for residents to take advantage of.

The other niceties about Inman Park are the beautiful historic homes that have been converted for multiple family use, which makes living in Inman Park more affordable for many more people. Neighborhood spirit is readily evident in the way the neighborhood is maintained and all the family friendly flags waving from many porches. There are a number of conveniences for daytime and nighttime that residents of Inman can take advantage of. There are not too many groups that this neighborhood would not be recommended for. I think every body can find something to love about Inman Park.

"Mostly Commercial"

Cascade Road is a long street in Atlanta that runs through many communities; some good, some not so good. This section of Cascade happens to be not so good. The reason why this particular section does not receive such a good rating is because it is mostly commercial, and not high end or mid range commercial. There are a number of store fronts and mom and pop operations that is a good thing. Small businesses need every opportunity to thrive, and given the current economy with many big businesses laying off and closing down, small business and enterprise, are to be commended.

The difficulty is that many of these mom and pop operations are stacked on top of each other with very little residential or upper end retail or other kinds of businesses that can bring the collective value of the neighborhood up.

This is not a neighborhood designed for living, although those with small business interest may find it appealing.

"Green Spaces and More"

Brentwood is a nice neighborhood in the Ben Hill area, just off Interstate 285. The homes in the neighborhood are moderate in size and price, and most are nicely maintained. The residents of Brentwood have the advantage of having Tampa Park, Stone Hogan Park, and the North Camp Creek Nature Preserve surrounding their community.

When it comes to cleanliness and safety, Brentwood rates average. There is nothing particularly outstanding about the neighborhood, but there is also nothing particularly egregious either. The schools in the area are decent. Public transportation and local conveniences are accessible. The cost of living is appropriate for the area.

This would be a great neighborhood for new families just starting out, retirees, students, and professionals.

"Off the Beaten Path"

Arlington Estates is a great neighborhood on the southside of Atlanta that is off the beaten path but a nice neighborhood none the less. The subdivision is relatively new, 5 years or less, for the most part. The homes are nicely maintained and you can tell the neighbors take pride in where they live. Just as the homes are relatively new, so are the schools in the area.

The only real pests are those that come from the woods around the neighborhood including plenty of deer, opossums, foxes and the occasional coyote. Because Arlington Estates is off the beaten path, traffic is not as bad as in most places.

Residents of Arlington Estates have the benefit of childcare within most of the subdivisions as well as some recreational offerings. If there are to be negatives or cons associated with the neighborhood is that it is a little far from major interstates and major retail shopping.

"Costly Convenience"

Once I wrote the title for this review, I thought I may have been a little unfair. The reason? Cost is relative. For those who can afford million dollar homes, then the conveniences associated with Ansley Park are not costly, they are acceptable. For those who can afford to live in large, stately homes, with tree lined streets on top of hills with long and winding driveways, then the price point becomes irrelevant.

When you think about it, price is relative when it comes to everything Ansley Park has to offer. What makes the neighborhood even more great is the fact that it is virtually in downtown Atlanta. With that being said, all the art, culture, entertainment, fine dining, and access that Atlanta offers is right there for the residents of Ansley Park. Are they paying for it? Sure, but if you can't afford it then you wouldn't be looking into living in the area. Right?

"Somewhat Charming"

Almond ark can be considered a somewhat charming neighborhood. One thing I find charming about Atlanta and the surrounding areas is the availability to parks and recreation in almost every neighborhood. For the residents of Almond Park, they have the benefit of having four dedicated green spaces right in their backyard; Gun Club Park, Carey Park and two small parks who's names escape me at the moment. There are also water ways in close proximity so if residents are tired of dry land, they can recreate and exercise near the water.

Like many other neighborhoods there are some rough patches. Most of the houses are well maintained, but there are a few that could stand some improvement. This would be a great neighborhood for singles, professionals and those who enjoy the outdoors. Having a car is essential. Even though there is access to public transportation, the major thoroughfares are more than a rocks throw away.

"Another Nice Neighborhood"

Rarely do you find a neighborhood that has absolutely everything with no discernable flaws. More times than not, most of the things one is looking for can be found, but there are always some concessions. You just have to decide what concessions you are willing to deal with. Adams Park is a nice neighborhood. Sure it may not be crime free or the absolute cleanest neighborhood, but does that mean it should be written off in totality? I think not.

There are beautiful older, well maintained homes in Adams Park. Green spaces abound where plenty of exercise and recreation are the order of the day. The neighborhood has great access to major interstates and thoroughfares, and it is not too far from downtown on the international airport, Hartsfield Jackson.

The schools in the neighborhood are decent and residents have access to local conveniences for shopping and dining. Yes, there is some crime in the area, but I don't know too many places, particularly in major cities where there isn't. Don't write Adams Park off. The neighborhood has a lot to offer.

"What's not to Like?"

I don't know about you, but if I am young, single, or married with older or no children, there may be no better locale than the Atlantic Station neighborhood. The reason I set the aforementioned parameters is because for those who may have small children who need quiet, a yard to play in, or those who prefer more suburban style living, this is definitely not the place for you. But it doesn't take rocket science to determine that Atlantic Station is the ideal location for just the right kind of consumer.

If you like mixed use communities where you can work and play in the same place, then Atlantic Station is for you. If you like high end and mid range retail shopping, entertainment for day and evening, restaurants galore, and love to be around hustling and bustling crowds where everybody seems to be going somewhere important, then Atlantic Station is definitely for you.

However, if you are looking for quiet after dark, minimal noise and even less traffic, this is not the ideal location. Atlantic Station has a lot of great things to offer. You just have to decide if it has what you are looking for.

jessier2 This place is awful! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT LIVE HERE! This place starts their maintenance here at 7am. I've reached out to a board member that basically told me she doesn't care that we don't want the noise to start at 7am. This should be 8am. Not everyone is awake and wants to be awake at 7am. I hate places that don't care about their residence. Not only do I live here and pay for that I also shop here. THAT STOPS TODAY! DON'T LIVE HERE IS PEACE IS WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR! YOU WON'T FIND IT HERE. THE WORST PART?! THIS AWFUL NOISE HAPPENS AT 7AM ON SATURDAYS TOO! WISH I HAD KNOWN, I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT HAVE MOVED HERE!

"Appreciated and Artsy"

I really like Castleberry Hill; probably for all the reasons others do not. It is still relatively unknown which means, you don't have to fight major traffic once you get in the general vicinity; there is still available parking especially lots near the art galleries, and you don't have to wait days to be seated in a decent restaurant. Castleberry Hill is one of the only places I am aware of in the major metropolitan area where you can take a leisurely stroll, day or night, and not bump into someone every few steps. I think that is fantastic!

It's nice to have another burgeoning art district in Atlanta. Castleberry Hill is kind of sophisticated and the lofts and displays are done very tastefully. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I certainly appreciate it. Besides the fantastic art, trendy and contemporary lofts and warehouses, and great restaurants, Castleberry Hill has a pretty advantageous location next to major interstates and downtown Atlanta.

"Atlanta Charm at its Best"

The West End is by far one of my favorite places in the Atlanta metropolitan area. One of the main reasons is because there are some hidden treasures there; from little known restaurants who's cuisine is to die for, to eclectic and interesting shops you can't find in strip malls, the West End needs to be a place every tourist makes it their business to stop through.

There are many nice things that can be said about the West End. If you want to talk about schools, then look no further. There are at least 4 well respected historically black colleges within a 5 block radius of each other that predominate the west end. Because of the high number of students, housing in the area is relatively inexpensive. More than in most areas in the city, rental values remain relatively consistent because there are always students in need of a place to live.

The community and neighborhood is ideal for students. Housing is affordable, and decent food is inexpensive. Public transportation is readily accessible, and the West End is not too far from downtown. Being located near two major highways doesn't hurt either.

"Has Some Flair"

Although the previous reviewer had no particular fondness for Thomas Kinkade, and understandably so, I get a slightly different impression of Adair Park. I guess because our idea of dream homes is slightly different. I do appreciate the bungalows offered by the neighborhood, and the small back yards are definitely a benefit for those who are not into yard maintenance every weekend during the summer or do not have children who want to romp and play in a larger space.

The best things about Adair Park, aside from the housing situation, is the location. The neighborhood has great access to some major thoroughfares, but more importantly, at least to me, the greenspaces that are in walking distance make this location all worth while. True, fine food restaurants are not just around the corner, but for students, and those who may be on a more limited budget, having some fast food available in reasonable proximity is not necessarily a bad thing.

The other added benefit to the location is proximity to some of the more eclectic communities in the major metropolitan area. There are nice little shops, bookstores, and mom and pop restaurants (who most often have the best food) that are very close for the residents of Adair Park to enjoy.
Pros
  • decent access to major thoroughfares

  • Historic fixer-uppers

"Park Close By"

One of the nicer things about the Bolton HIlls community is that Lillian Cooper Shepherd Park is very close by. Having green space that readily available provides plenty of opportunities for family's to engage in, and children to participate in.

Bolton Hills is located very close to interstate 285. That can be a blessing and a curse. Access is great, particularly for those who may need to travel into the downtown area for work or out to the southside for other activities. For those of you who may not be as familiar with Atlanta and how the interstates work, 285 goes in a complete circle. Therefore many, many communities can be accessed from 285. The drawback to being located so closely to the highway is increased transitional traffic, and delays in accessing the very highway that is of such great benefit.

Not much else about Bolton Hills stands out as a community. The homes are modest, schools are fairly decent, and residents have access to public transportation and local conveniences.

"In the Thick of Things"

Ben Hill Forest is a great neighborhood that's right in the thick of things. With easy access to interstate 285, and other major thoroughfares like Stone Road and Fairburn Road, the residents of Ben Hill Forest don't have to drive a very long way to access everything the city of Atlanta and surrounding communities have to offer. There are lovely greenspaces surrounding the neighborhood. Although there may not be a formal gym, there are plenty of opportunities for fitness and physical activity.

The cost of living in the Ben Hill forest neighborhood is comparable with that of neighboring communities, and I think most neighborhoods and cities, for that matter, are having difficulty with rental and resale value. Public transportation is easily accessed by the residents of Ben Hill Forest, so if they are not interested in driving their own car to fight traffic, they can let someone else bother with the drudgery.

There are a plethora of pros associated with this neighborhood, and very few cons. This would be a great neighborhood for anyone who likes to live close to the city and the action, but still enjoys many of the benefits of a neighborhood feel.

"Ben Hill at it's Best"

The neighborhood of Ben Hill Acres is reminiscent in a number of ways of how we remember neighborhoods in the past. You know what I mean. A community where neighbors actually knew each other by name. And not just the names of immediate family members, but extended family members as well. The kind of neighborhood where when someone moved in or out, there was a neighborhood gathering of some sort to either welcome a new neighbor or extend sad goodbyes and well wishes for one who was leaving.

That's what the Ben Hill Acres neighborhood reminds me of. There is not a lot of transition in the neighborhood, and when there is, everyone knows about it. Another great thing about the Ben Hill Acres community is that there is a park in the area that offers many opportunities for families to exercise and children to play informally or in structured extracurricular activities.

Ben Hill Acres is close to many major thoroughfares that provide residents with access to many restaurants activities and events that are always going on in Atlanta. This is a great neighborhood for just about anyone, so make sure to check out the Ben Hill Acres community.

"Simple and Quiet"

Sharpsburg Court in Panthersville is a neighborhood that is simple and quiet. Those are characteristics that many neighborhoods, particularly in the sprawl of Atlanta, cannot claim, even though they would like to Simple and quiet is great for families with children, retired individuals, students who need to study, and professionals who need down time after a busy day of work and fighting Atlanta traffic.

The homes in the neighborhood vary in style from rambling ranches to split levels to mini-mansions. Most of the homes set back off the street and have large expanses of lawn in the front and a backdrop of Georgia pines. The Sharpsburg Court neighborhood does not experience a lot of traffic outside of the people who live in the community. Neighborhood pride is evident by the friendly waves from neighbor to neighbor and how properties are impeccably maintained. Residents may have to travel some distance to access major thoroughfares of premium retail shopping. but everyone does not look for that in their neighborhood. They may simply want quiet.

"Close to Airport"

Collier Heights in Atlanta Georgia is located very close to Interstates 285 and 20. The location is ideal for getting around the large metropolitan area and accessing both Hartsfield Jackson Airport and the smaller Fulton County Airport- Brown Field. Greater access is also available, as a result, to downtown, midtown, and other areas to enjoy shopping, dining, and the many cultural events that are always occurring in the Greater Atlanta area.

But sometimes access comes at a price. The neighborhoods proximity to the airport and major thoroughfares makes it a lot more trafficked and more noisy than would be ideal. Traffic in Atlanta is never really good, and being close to the access point for two major interstates makes the traffic situation that much worse.

The Collier Heights neighborhood is okay. There is certainly nothing to write home about. The neighborhood is mid to low income, and the resale value for properties in the area are dismal. There are decent schools in the area and access to public transportation and local conveniences. If you are not from the Collier Heights area, then there is certainly nothing that will draw you there.

Erlene I think Collier Heights has some beautiful mid century homes for a reasonable price. Also like the area because of the hills and trees. Area very relaxing. I don't see any way that Collier Heights can go but up with all the people that live in the city and like to have quick access to the interstate. Beautiful homes and good schools. Also I believe it has nice parks. It really surprises me that a flood of people are not moving to that area.

"Right in the Middle of It"

The neighborhood of Grove Park in Atlanta is right in the middle of the Donald Lee Hollowell community. Grove Park is located right at the juxtaposition of interstates 20, 85, and 285 so access to the major interstates is fantastic. Just 15 minutes and you can just about be anywhere in the city, stave traffic is cooperative. Midtown is in close proximity where residents can enjoy eclectic shops and local fan fare. Down town is right around the corner where nightlife, fine dining and better retail shopping are readily accessible. There are waterways and green spaces all within minutes of Grove Park.

Those are the things, places, sights, and activities you can find around Grove Park; with around being the key word. Within Grove Park itself are median to low income residences and apartment communities. There is some industrial development but nothing that brings in jobs or adds much to the community. There's great access to things, but the community itself is right in the middle of lacking a lot of amenities that would make it a desirable place to live.

"Great Lakes All Around"

Residents of Ravenwood Drive in Union City have some great advantages. They are located just a stones throw away from several lakes that comprise the Valley Lakes area. Now, I am not a real estate guru, but I do know when your property is close to the lake and all that lakefront properties have to offer, somehow the value of your home tends to remain versus other landlocked homes.

To be able to come home from a hard days work, park the car, and take a leisurely stroll to the waters edge where you can leave all the muss and fuss from the day behind, has to be a nice option. (I'm almost kind of jealous). What makes the neighborhood even nicer is the great schools located nearby, the eco friendly surroundings and the neighborly spirit.

"Natural and Nice"

Bena Court in Union City is a really nice community that has kept it's neighborhood charm. The modest homes are helpt together and you can tell residents care about where they live by the little personal touches you see as you drive through the neighborhood.

Although Bena Court is not located next to a major gym for physical fitness, residents of Bena Court don't need a gym to get their workout in. All they have to do is take a brisk walk right outside their front door. The streets done have a lot of traffic so they don't have to be concerned about that. The hills and inclines in the neighborhood will get the heart rate pumping for a good cardiovascular workout. And the best part about it? All they have to do is walk back through their front door when the workout is over; no climbing in the car, fighting Atlanta traffic. Hillcrest Drive provides everything to their residents nice and naturally.

"Nice Family Atmosphere"

Hillcrest Drive in Union City provides a nice atmosphere for families. The homes are perched on tops or small inclines, giving the neighborhood a little bit more interesting. As you crest the top of the next small hill, you want to see what lies at the top of the hill. And for the neighbors of Hillcrest Drive, what lies at the top of the next hill after hill are other families who want to keep a nice neighborhood for their children to grow up in.

It goes without saying that neighborly spirit is great. The streets are kept nice and clean, and there aren't too many places in Georgia that doesn't provide a whole lot of green. The Georgia Pines are everywhere and Hillcrest Drive is no exception. Located close to newer schools and local conveniences, Hillcrest Drive is a nice community to raise a family.

"Fair to Middlin'"

The neighborhood of Hilltop Drive in Union City is a nice neighborhood, in a relatively nice community. There has been some depreciation and the homes may not be holding their value as well as they once did (and not particularly because of the housing market). But despite that, the neighbors have still maintained their neighborly spirit. Many in the neighborhood have been there for years, raised their children there, and are now entertaining their grandchildren in the same way.

The modest homes are nicely maintained, and the pride of the residents can be seen in how well they maintain their homes. Residents of Hilltop Drive do have access to local conveniences and some local shopping and restaurants. But the area is certainly not big on nightlife, but most of those who have settled in this area are looking for more of a family atmosphere.

"Winding Roads"

Unless you know what you are looking for or run across it because you are lost, finding Koweta Road can be challenging. Although it is an established neighborhood, just getting there requires a little bit of work. Once there, Koweta Road and as such, the neighborhood is a winding and meandering community right off a major thoroughfare on the southside of Atlanta.

The area is densely populated with every kind of tree that grows in Georgia it seems, and for many of the sections of the long winding street, the houses are obscured by foliage. Even in the 'winter' when the leaves have fallen from the trees, the houses can be still difficult to see. In other areas, the trees have been cleared to make room for newer homes and entrances to newer subdivisions. The neighborhood because of its obscurity can be considered quieter than many. The local does provide access to a number of local conveniences as well.

"An Eclectic Mix"

Stonewall Tell Road in Union City is an eclectic mix of residential and commercial; I should know, I drove that dimly lit road everyday for more than 5 years. There's one thing I have to say about Georgia being that I am a transplant like more than 60 percent of the current population. Why are there no street lights? For the most part, when the sun goes down on the southside of Atlanta, it is dark. Interestingly enough, there are street lights located by the police department on Stonewall Tell Road.

Because the street meanders, so do the homes, ergo so does the neighborhood. In certain sections of the street, older modest homes, set far back from the street can be visible through tall shrubs and old low lying trees. With the turn of a single corner, on the same street, is an entrance to a subdivision where the houses start at half a million. And if you keep going toward the Union City side, you will find city hall, the police department, a new state of the art daycare facility, and the Department of Family and Children Services.

"A Very Nice Community"

The area in and around South Tuxedo Road including Blackland Road Northwest is a high end affluent neighborhood that delivers just what is expected of the area. The homes are palatial with a price tag to match. Fortunately, many of the people who reside in the Blackland Road community are long term residents, because in the current housing market, if they were looking to sell, despite how nice the homes are, finding a buyer to meet their price point may be difficult.

With a great neighborhood with great neighborly spirit comes great schools, decent access to major thoroughfares, high end retail shopping and fine dining, and close proximity to good child care and medical facilities. Anyone who can afford the price point and suburban life would enjoy living in the neighborhood of Blackland Road Northwest.

"Connecting It All"

Campbellton Fairburn Road in Union City is the road that connects it all. The street runs almost the full length of the southside of Georgia and connects residential neighborhoods to commercial and retail areas. Campbellton Fairburn Raod is one of the major thoroughfares on the south side. There are pockets of residences that resemble a 'neighborhood' and of course there are a number of neighborhoods that intersect with Campbellton Fairburn Road.

The nice thing about the connector is that the primary commercial area is on Campbellton Fairburn. All the retail and department stores in the immediate vicinity, all the fast food and some fine dining restaurants, as well as local entertainment including bowling alleys, bistros and nightclubs can all be accessed by way of this thoroughfare.

Almost anyone can find a section of Campbellton Fairburn Road that they may feel comfortable living in. That's the great thing about a street and neighborhood that connects it all.

"Not All It's Cracked Up To Be"

Avondale Estates, just by it's name, would give one the impression of real estates; sprawling lawns, impeccable mansions, wide open spaces, stately and upper crust like. But Avondale Road in Avondale Estates in Georgia is not all it's cracked up to be; as a matter of fact, it's far from it. Between the crumbling commercial property, the grit and grime that comes with high traffic areas and the hustle and bustle that is never attractive in what should be a serene and sophisticated, there's not much to look forward to when it comes to Avondale Road and Avondale Estates.

Now, I am sure there are some redeeming qualities about the neighborhood. But unless you live there and have a particular affinity or great memories of days gone by, to the outsider, Avondale Road is not all it's cracked up to be. If I was hard press to make a recommendation for anyone to live there it would be .......... I really can't. I don't want to do anyone a real disservice.

"Green Space Abounds"

Those who call Hardendorf Avenue Northeast home have great green spaces to take advantage of. Both Candler park and Lake Clare Park are within walking distance of most of the residents homes. "A Buford Beauty"

Ansel Court Northeast is a wonderful residential neighborhood in Buford Georgia. For some, Buford is off the beaten path, further away from the hustle and bustle of the city; and that's what makes Buford appealing to so many.

There are great schools and community amenities for residents to enjoy. What so many find appealing about Buford, is what others would find to be the downside to the community. "Suburban Bliss"

Union Road Southwest south of Atlanta is a small but impactful suburban neighborhood. Now, you have to put suburban in context when you describe southern states and communities. Atlanta is a sprawling city with a thriving metropolitan area. Anything outside of downtown proper, for the most part, is considered suburban. "Less than Average"

Residents of Dodd Street find themselves in a very unfortunate position. Their neighborhood just happens to be adjacent to another neighborhood in Fairburn that is on the decline. That is a difficult for any neighborhood to be in, because despite your best efforts, some things just can't be overcome.

There are residents of Dodd Street who have lived in the community long before the most recent problems of drugs and increased crime due to adjacent neighborhoods. I am sure they harken back to the old days with fond memories of how things use to be.

There are some in the neighborhood who are doing their best to keep their properties up, yards maintained, and houses in good repair. But it is also very evident that some of the residents of Dodd Street have simply given up. Maybe they can't afford to leave the area and that's why they stay. However, given the choice, I am sure many would find other more appealing places to live.

"Leaves Something to Be Desired"

Orchard Street is a residential neighborhood in Fairburn Georgia, that leaves something to be desired. Part of the problem with this neighborhood is being so closely located to a high crime, highly drug infested area. Even if the neighbors wanted to improve their neighborhood, and I'm sure some do, having that kind of derelict element so close by makes it increasingly difficult.

Some of the small cottage style homes are nicely maintained; while many others have gone to seed. Again because of adjacent neighborhoods, resale and rental values in the Orchard Street neighborhood are low. There is a great deal of through traffic with people from outside the community looking for drugs.

This is not the best community for those who can choose to live differently. Not a great community for children or anyone looking for safety, cleanliness, peace and quiet.

"Great Neighborhood for Children"

Fairview Drive is a great neighborhood for children. One reason in particular is the fact that one of the local elementary schools is located right on the street. This is an ideal location for families because of the school, and all that a thriving school community has to offer. There are a host of extracurricular and recreational activities for the children to become involved in. With the school comes increased property values, and a high level of neighborhood spirit and school pride.

With a school right in the neighborhood, there are times when traffic can be a little much; however, those are most related to the school and not through or transitory traffic.

This is a great neighborhood not just for families, but for professionals, seniors, and those who enjoy good schools, and relative peace and quiet.

"Nicely Situated Neighborhood"

Residents of the Mullis Street neighborhood have a number of advantages because of their ideal location. Personal Touch Medical Center is right in the heart of the neighborhood, along with many well known and well respected houses of worship.

The Mullis Street neighborhood is located near a major connector in the Fairburn community which gives residents easy access to local conveniences, public transportation, and better than average access to major interstates. Being that closely located to a major thoroughfare can present some traffic problems, but once you turn onto Mullis Street, the neighborhood speaks for itself.

Houses are relatively small but nicely maintained. Neighbors know each other by name, and quite a few of them have been neighbors for many years. This is a great neighborhood for families, seniors, professionals, and those who like to enjoy the charm a close knit neighborhood can provide.
Pros

"Affluent Newnan Neighborhood"

Bullsboro Drive in Newnan Georgia is a major thoroughfare. At the same time, Bullsboro Drive is a neighborhood; a rather nice neighborhood in Newnan. I would describe this rural community as more southern style wealthy than ritzy.

Homes on the street are spaced nicely apart so you can see your neighbors property but you don't necessarily have to hear your neighbors. Neighborhood spirit and pride is readily evident in how nicely the properties are maintained, on this tree lined roadway.

Bullsboro Drive is a major connector in Newnan; as such, traffic is not necessarily the best. It is however, a major artery to retail shopping, local eateries, commercial development, and the downtown Newnan area.

For those who have an appreciation for rural living, then Bullsboro Drive is a great choice.

"Tree Lined With Georgia Pines"

Virlyn B. Smith Road, like many streets in southeast Atlanta, is lined with skyscraping Georgia Pines. These beautiful trees cast long and welcoming shadows, especially on a blistering hot summers day. To describe the neighborhood of Virlyn B Smith as woodsy is certainly an understatement.

Virlyn B Smith is a clean and eco friendly neighborhood. There is a great deal of neighborly spirit and residential pride that is easily discerned by the way the neighborhood is so nicely maintained.

Virlyn B. Smith is a family friendly neighborhood, where children can still get out and place safely in their own community. This neighborhood is highly recommended for families, couples, professionals, and those that enjoy a little bit of country living right in the heart of the city.

"A Neighborhood With It's Own Nickname"

There are not too many neighborhoods I am aware of that have their own nickname. I guess it may not be that uncommon. However, I would think a nickname, even for a neighborhood would be a term of endearment. Well in the case of Golightly Street, aka Lightning, the nickname is certainly not a good thing.

Lightning is known, unfortunately, for high drug traffic and a higher than average crime rate. The majority of the homes in the neighborhood are subsidized. That in and of itself is not necessarily a problem, however, in the Golightly neighborhood, section 8 equals increased noise level, high transitory residential traffic, people outside the community itself cruising the neighborhood for drugs, and poorly maintained conditions.

Interestingly enough, quite a bit of the area around Golightly is not quite as derelict. This is not a community to choose to move to. A lot of the folks who live there, for one reason or another, seem to have just ended up there.

"Like Night and Day"

Stone Road Southwest is a very interesting street and neighborhood. In a lot of ways, its like night and day.

Stone Road is located relatively close to Greenbriar Mall. With that being said, there is increased traffic, activity, noise, and everything else that goes along with being located near a major commercial and retail shopping area. As you move further from the mall area, you pass The New Tyler Perry Studios, a beautifully maintained senior citizen's complex, and nice tree lined streets.

Then, there is a section of Stone Road that leaves much to be desired. The roadway itself becomes rough, and the neighborhood reflects the same way. There are old poorly maintained apartment complexes, just a few, and a small park that doesn't seem safe enough for any child to play in.

However, as soon as you round the densely tree lined bend, it's like traveling in an entirely different area. New homes are being constructed amongst older well maintained homes; some of which are in the quarter of a million to half a million dollar range. The lawns are manicured, and neighborhood spirit and pride become readily evident. That's one of the things I have found most appealing about living in the greater Atlanta area. All it takes is turning one corner, and the landscape and atmosphere change completely.

Stone Road is also home to Woodland Middle School; a relatively new school, built in the past 7 to 8 years. The school is nicely maintained, and seems to have been a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. With a middle school comes increased traffic and noise, but primarily at certain times of day during the school year and when there are evening events.

If you pick the right section of Stone Road, it can be a nice place to live.

"Do Deers Count as Pests?"

During the school year, I personally travel this road at least twice a day, 5 days a week. I don't know about other places in the country or even other places in Atlanta, but Demooney Road must have one of the highest concentrations of deer population anywhere. No matter the time of day or night, there are deer either preparing to cross the road, darting across the road, standing in the road, or many times, unfortunately, sprawled out in the middle of the road.

Something else you need to know about many streets in the southern section of Atlanta is that there are very few street lights; so when it's dark it is very dark. (which may explain some of the deer laying in the roads).

Otherwise, Demooney acts as a major connector to many residential neighborhoods as well as some thriving commercial areas in College Park. Several schools are located off this road so mornings and mid afternoons are very busy with school buses and parents picking their children up.

There are sections of Demooney Road that resemble grassy knolls, ergo the deer population; however, there are other areas with nicely maintained expensive homes. If deer can be considered pests, then Demooney Road has a pest problem!

"Apartment Community"

Castor Drive, located on the southside of Atlanta, is primarily an apartment community with many single family residencies nearby. There are some great apartment communities and then there are some not so great apartment communities. Well, Castor Drive kind of falls in the murky middle.

Simply by the nature of the neighborhood, there is increased traffic, increased noise level, and increased transitory activity; which does not bode well for those who like it quiet and serene. The apartments are maintained to a certain degree, but I guess it may be kind of hard for some to take pride in something they do not own.

Public transportation is easily accessible to the residents of Castor Drive, and there are decent schools nearby. But if your looking for clean and serene, this is not the place for you.

"Nice and Friendly"

The neighborhood of Red Oak Road Northwest is very typical of many neighborhoods in the southwestern section of Atlanta Georgia. The neighborhood is well established, and most if not all residents have called Red Oak home for many years. You can tell that the families here take pride in their homes, neighborhood and community because of how nicely everything is maintained.

Because residents of Red Oak tend to stay for a while, there is not a lot of transition in the community. There are great schools within reasonable proximity and school buses come in and out of the neighborhood to make sure children have safe and consistent transportation to and from school. Just like most areas in the southern section of Atlanta, there are plenty of trees to provide some shade on blistering hot summer days. There are park and recreational activities available to the residents of Red Oak Road as well.

This is a family centered community and young professionals, retirees, and singles would do well here; as long as they are not looking for a lot of nighttime action. But that's what the city is for, right?

"Disappearing Charm"

Highpoint Road, located adjacent to many residential neighborhoods and a major thoroughfare in Union City, use to be a very charming community. That is no longer the case, unfortunately. And in this case, looks can definitely be deceiving. Highpoint Road is not run down, the homes are nicely maintained, and there are no overt signs of major problems. The streets are lined with Georgia Pines, traffic volume is average, and there are some great recreational and extracurricular activities for children in the community to enjoy.

However, just under the surface, behind this facade of suburban/rural nicety is a brewing undercurrent of drug trafficking, and all the problems that kind of illicit activity bring to bear. That's what makes the charm of Highpoint Road begin to fade. Hopefully, neighbors won't give up on their community and let it go to the dogs both literally and figuratively.

"Depreciating Values"

At one time, Sylvan Road use to be a decent community with neighbors who knew each other and an area that was well maintained. Those days seem to be long gone. Homes have been replaced by apartments and subsidized housing complexes, that are now run down. Because of this, there is a tremendous amount of transition.and that helps to make the neighborhood less stable as residents are not necessarily committed to maintaining it.

The crime rate has significantly increased, and a number of the apartment units, homes and local shops are now closed or condemned. Some of the older residents still live in the neighborhood, but I'm sure it's nothing like they remember.

"Maintaining some of it's Luster"

Flat Shoals Road in Southeast Atlanta is an older and established community that still maintains some of its luster. Flat Shoals neighbors are friendly and many have known each other for years. There is some transition in the neighborhood, but not as much as in others that are relatively close by. The streets are clean with plenty of trees and foliage. The homes are nicely maintained, and there's a sense of neighborhood pride.

Recently, however, that has developed an undercurrent of illicit activity and a growing concern regarding crime. Gangs have begun to show up on the fringes of the community, and neighbors concerns are growing with this budding problem.

"Nice Urban Rural Mix"

Buffington Road, in Union City Georgia, is a great combination of urban rural living. Here you get the best of both worlds; easy access to those things that make urban life convenient and exciting, and all those things that make rural life sublime.

The homes in the Buffington Road neighborhood are older and well maintained. Residents take pride in their property and you can tell by the neatly manicured lawns and neighborly spirit. Buffington Road certainly appeals to older residents and families, with the churches, great schools, and quiet safe atmosphere.

The neighborhood is clean and green, with nice walking paths and tree lined streets. Traffic in the area can be intense at times, but there are few areas in the Greater Atlanta area that do not experience some intense traffic.

The cost of living is slightly above average, and resale values are average considering the current housing market. Residents of Buffington Road do have relatively easy access to public transportation, major retail shopping, and major thoroughfares. And when they want to shut off all that urban life brings, they are able to do just that.

When you have strip clubs as the primary reason for people to visit, then, you can imagine the kind of negative activities that come along with it.

Neighborly spirit is low because of the transitory crowd that comes through the area, and I wouldn't describe it as clean and green. Because of its proximity to interstates and major roadways, transitory visitors are more than in other areas.

The schools are average but not the best. Resale values for properties are low, and understandably so. There are no major medical facilities that are in reasonable proximity. There are some local stores but no major retail shopping or fine dining restaurants.

  • adult entertainment
  • poor resale value
  • not good for families

"Not the Best"

Delowe Drive Southwest in Southwest Atlanta Georgia is not one of Atlanta's best neighborhoods. There are some positives; for example, residents of Delowe are located close to shopping with Greenbriar Mall, eateries, and local conveniences. Residents are also close to major thoroughfares and interstates. The schools in the area are decent, and the residents do benefit from having a park nearby for a variety of recreational activities.

The neighborhood is not the cleanest, and the streets are not well maintained. The crime rate, unfortunately, is above average. Because of the mall and other amenities in the area, there is always a great deal of traffic and the problems associated with a number of people coming to the area who are not necessarily residents of the area. All in all, Delowe Drive is not the best representation of what Atlanta has to offer.

"Questionable at Best"

At one time, Baker Road was a nice family centered neighborhood. And there are probably still a few families that can remember how things use to be. Today, Baker road is better known for a higher than average crime rate. The community can be considered to be relatively unsafe. Where this community and neighborhood use to be safe for families and children, because of the crime rate, illicit drug activity, and known and suspected gang violence, it's no longer considered a safe place.

There are some local stores and local conveniences residents are able to access. and public transportation is easily accessible. Because of the decline of the neighborhood, resale values have significantly declined. The neighborhood, with the exception of a few holdouts, has become much more transitory then it ever was before.

"Clean, Family Centered Community"

Sigman Road Northeast in Conyers Georgia is a great community and neighborhood for families. There are not many places throughout Georgia that do not have an abundance of beautiful trees that provide wonderful shade on a hot summer day, of a beautiful colorful landscape when the trees change colors in the fall. Well the Sigman Road neighborhood is no different.

Not only are there recreational and activity centers in close proximity, because of the safety and closeness of the neighbors, children can play safely right there in their own neighborhood. The children have great schools to attend and plenty of extracurricular activities to get involved in.

Traffic is not more than usual in most Atlanta communities, and medical facilities are within reasonable distance. Residents of the Sigman Road Northeast are located within reasonable distance to all the conveniences including shopping, fine dining, and a variety of specialty shops. Nightlife may leave something to be desired, but for those who choose to live in this community, nightlife is not high on the priority list.

"Urban and Suburban All Rolled into One"

One of the things that I have come to love about Atlanta, in general, is the fact that there are many areas outside of downtown that are thriving communities. Everyone is familiar with the downtown area and what it has to offer; however, there are so many communities that have great amenities and a lot to offer outside of the downtown area.

One of those thriving, busy, and great areas is the Camp Creek community; of which Wellington Walk SW is a part of. About 30 minutes from downtown, and 10 minutes from Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, Camp Creek in General, and Wellington Walk specifically has everything you would want in urban and suburban living.

There are a host of great restaurants, major retail and specialty shops, wonderful bookstores, and enjoyable entertainment all within a few minutes of Wellington Walk. In addition, residents of Wellington Walk have the benefit of state of the art medical facilities, new schools, and a great community to call their own.

"Hip and Fresh"

When you hear the name Princeton Lakes Court, at least when I do, I get a certain impression in my mind. I think upscale, fresh, clean, and of course, lakes. Well, Princeton Lakes Court, right off the infamous Camp Creek Parkway in southwest Atlanta does not disappoint.

Princeton Lakes is a great neighborhood with an exceptional location. Residents of Princeton Lakes Court have at their disposal, all the creature comforts one could ask for; fine dining, movies, nightlife, shopping, fitness and recreation, all within walking distance. In addition, residents are able to get away from the hustle and bustle the commercial district has to offer, and retreat to a relatively new, fresh and clean community.

The homes and apartment developments in the Princeton Lakes area are less than 5 years old. As such, the neighborhood still looks new and clean. Residents keep up their property, and everything is very well maintained. One thing about Atlanta, at least in the southwestern part, whe

"An Interesting Mix"

Fairburn Heights is an interesting mix, right in the heart of the old Bankhead neighborhood. Fairburn Heights is surrounded by green space and low rent housing developments, that make it not the safest or most desirable place to live. Of course, being in the mix of the city, public transportation of all varieties is easily accessible. In addition, Fairburn Heights is located in close physical proximity to Fulton County Airport Brown Field, which serves to add to the noise level.

Fairburn Heights is considered an interesting mix for another reason. It is well established, in the sense that the residential homes in the area have held the same residents for many years. At the same time, the community is somewhat transitory because of the apartments and public housing within its' borders.

Fairburn Heights is located to major interstates which makes it great for accessibility. At the same time, the location adds to the noise level, the amount of traffic, and the lesser degree of saf

Old Briar Trail is in the city but nothing about it says city living. People who chose to live in this neighborhood want to be isolated from the rest of civilization and have as few city influences in their neighborhood as possible. Most communities and neighborhoods would be pleased to have one lake on the premises. Well the people who live on Kirkly Way in the Lakes of Cedar Grove subdivision, have a plethora of lakes on the premises. Herschel Road is an older neighborhood located in very close proximity to international Hartsfield Jackson Airport. The street is densely lined with trees and the homes are nestled back on large lots. "Beautiful Community"

Greyhawk Way is a beautiful street nestled in The Lakes; a pristine subdivision off South Fulton Parkway. Although I have not personally lived here, I have family that do, and because of all the amenities the neighborhood offers, we visit often. The Lakes is just as described - a community built around several lakes. There's great fishing, picnic and play areas for the children, and a great family atmosphere. The neighborhood is established and the homes are beautifully maintained. Greyhawk Way is a great family focused neighborhood.

"Quiet, safe, newer neighborhood"

Marshwood Trace rests in a quiet cul de sac community that is relatively new. The homes are a great size and the streets are clean. If you are looking for busy night life, and lots of hustle and bustle, Marshwood Trace is not for you. "A Little Bit of Country"

Like many streets in South Atlanta, one turn off the major thoroughfare and you are transported into a little piece of urban country living. Butner road is just such a street. Although difficult to regard as a single neighborhood, Butner Road links many neighborhoods because of the sheer length of the road. There are several multi-million dollar homes on Butner, nestled just beyond gated fences and tree lined streets. And many of these multi million dollar mansions sit right next door to middle income homes. There are long streches of green ways and a few small neighborhood shops that meet the needs of the community.

"Neighborhood in Transition"

Bankhead Highway, recently renamed Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, is a neighborhood in transition. On one end of the parkway are well established older homes, small mom and pop businesses, and on the other are connections to other established neighborhoods. But from point A to point B are neighborhoods and businesses that are struggling to survive. Public transportation is readily available, and because of proximity to the interstate many truckers use the area for overnight parking. Crime is higher in this area then in most of the surrounding communities. Revitalization efforts are underway but slow.

"Best of Both Worlds"

The neighborhoods that comprise College Park are wonderfully situated within convenient distance of retail and commercial areas without being negatively affected by them. College Park has a plethora of well established affluent neighborhoods, as well as recently developed subdivisions where professionals with families choose to reside because of its location. There are a number of gated communities, tree lined streets, and beautifully maintained parks for families to recreate in and children to play. The great benefit of the locale is, within a 15 minute drive, residents of these neighborhoods are amidst high end retail shops, fine dining restaurants, and enjoyable night life. College Park offers its residents the best of both worlds.

"Busy and Bustling"

There are a number of residential/commercial districts outside of Atlanta proper. One of the most popular and busiest ones is Camp Creek Parkway. Anchored by Camp Creek Marketplace with its many designer and high end retail stores, the Parkway is busy and bustling from sun up to way past sun down. Part of what makes this thoroughfare so lively is its direct access to internationally renowned Hartsfield Jackson Airport. Literally, at the end of the parkway is the airport. As a result, a great number of tourists who may be on a short layover are able to dine in fine restaurants and shop in fashionable stores between flights. As you can imagine, there is a great deal of bumper to bumper traffic on Camp Creek Parkway that is not limited to rush hour.
