"Just moved from Ellet to Goodyear Heights 2 yrs ago."
We bought our 1st home off Income 2 yrs ago. What a nice,clean,well-kept area to live. Our first week here at least 10 neighbors from ours&surronding streets came to introduce themselves. The people take pride in their homes&cars. I notice that on the whole street plus this area in general. We watch out for each other .
Most, but not all of our neighbors have been here for many years. Also like myself the ones who move here usually went to Ellet schools. Not all though. It's not a requirement to live here.lol
I still consider this area Ellet though due to Goodyear Heights is still Ellet school district. Bettyjane is just few streets over.
Also Tallmadge &their schools are about 5 streets behind Us..
To get to the new stores in Brimfield is easy if you go up to Eastwood&make a right&follow it out to Walbash&turn left then right into the new Brimfield Plaza. (My next door neighbor drove me to it when I first moved in.Also we are close to Chapel Hill Mall & the surrounding stores & restaurants from here.
We have the Goodyear Metro Park up the other end of Newton St. One night a week in the summer the city holds a free concert there. It's nice just bring a chair. Good bands too. Also we have the IGA which they have alot of speciality stuff for a small store. If you sign up for their email program they send you a coupon at least monthly for like a free loaf of bread, etc. A nice little perk since I shop there almost weekly. Then up towards the Tallmage Circle is the K-Mart&across from it the Acme&Dollar Tree, Hallmark etc. Then you can go anywhere off the Tallmadge Circle.
We love our new home, but all these things are a big plus.
Only downfall is one neighbor has a dog she is elderly&sometimes she forgets to bring it .It's a small yappy dog so it's not awful. We usually just wait a few minutes&it stops. Never happens at night either.
We lived in Ellet which we lived on a huge hill &Iam so glad we bought a flat property.(Even though it was a nice area, but not as good in taxes&people didn't walk their dogs&get out so much due to the hill we lived on.)I quess it depends on which street&area of Goodyear Heights or Ellet or anywhere you lived. It's hard to generalize one area. I like Ellet alot. It has alot of nice houses&people that I still go to alot. It's just a few minutes across the bridge.I lived around Hatton my whole life went to Hatton,Hyre&Ellet. Lived on a huge hill especially our drive way was a mess in the winter.
Also no-one wanted to walk that hill. During Halloween while living behind Hatton due to the hill no-one not even my own kids wanted to go up those hills.
So it"s nice to have the flat-area & close-knit neighborhood.
We live in Goodyear Heights, but it's still considered Ellet (as far as the schools go). I like to listen to the light sound of the early morning traffic from the express-way coming in my window during the warm weather. Our first year I couldn't fiqure out what it was,but we are not too close to where it's annoying, I like it it's actually soothing to me.
