"Indian Village – Historical Homes and a Great Community"

Although many of the gorgeous historical homes in Indian Village have been restored, they have been done so thoughtfully, to not disrupt the early 20th century vibe you get as you drive through. It is considerably more expensive to live here when compared to other parts of Detroit, but well worth it.

This is a safe, nice community with a healthy mix of races. The residents of the neighborhood come to gather to coordinate a massive number of events and volunteer opportunities. There is a community calendar with something going on somewhere nearly every day. If you have young children, you will want to look at Detroit Waldorf School, but the public schools are quite good as well. If you are looking for something to be a part of, there is both a men’s and women’s gardening club.

The location puts you close to everything that Detroit has to offer, including casinos, ball games and countless restaurants and bars. If you can afford one of the beautiful homes in Indian Village, it is definitely a great place to live whether you are a busy single professional, retiree or family with several children. This is truly a fantastic place to live.

"Great Area of Town!"

This is an area of town where the cost of living may be high, but it's well worth it. Truthfully this is one of the most sought after areas of Detroit and therefore why they can command the money for real estate that they do. There are some gorgeous homes here that offer classic architecture and rich history.

This is a neighborhood with a serious sense of community. It has some fantastic organizations and associations that help to pull it together to be a very tight knit commnity. It isn't far from the water and that offers a nice feature on its own. It's located close to major roads and so it has accessibility.

It's very safe and a rather wealthy area of town to live in. This has become a sort of trendy and artsy area of town to live in. The history, the architecture, and the tight knit community have all helped to contribute to that. It does have a higher cost of living but many would argue that it's worth it.

You are close to everything, have some wonderful amenities nearby, right at the water, and of course have gorgeous homes surrounding you. The bottom line--you really can't go wrong here! If you have the money thent his is an area of town that you absolutely want to live in and enjoy!

"Very nice Detroit neighborhood if you can afford it"

When I lived downtown, me and my friend used to sometimes drive through historic neighborhoods in Detroit on a mild summer day when there wasn't much to do. We used to drive through Indian Village as well when we had the chance.

This is one of the most historic neighborhoods in Detroit. The homes are sprawling, have huges amounts of square footage, and feature all sorts of unique and classic architecture. This is where the upper echelon of Detroit dwell. There is some serious old money going through here.

Of course this neighborhood has a neighborhood association. In fact I think that they have several. Good schools, right off of East Jefferson, and not far from the center of downtown Detroit. This place is also close to the Marina district, and you know some of those yachts docked over there are owned by the residents of this neighborhood.

Unless you are rich, you may not be able to afford this neighborhood. The classic homes and prime real estate they sit on probably make this too expensive for most. There is public transportation along Jefferson, but most of those who live around here don't need it. This is a five star neighborhood in my book.
