"A community with access to many parks"

Ketring Park is located just west of the busy South Broadway which is home to a variety of car dealerships and other businesses. Once you're in the neighborhood though, it gets quiet and peaceful and there are a variety of parks and a lake to make the area more pleasing. Many of the homes here were built in the late 50s and early 60s and the wear of the years can be evident on some of them. This is a family friendly area and the schools here all rate above average. There are a few restaurants within the borders of the neighborhood, again, mostly off of South Broadway. On the southeast part of the neighborhood there's a restaurant called El Parral Mexican, which is a locally owned restaurant and very good food for a good price. The family that owns this owns several locations throughout the Denver metro area and the food is always consistently good. I've probably eaten at the restaurants a combined total of 30 times throughout my life and have never had anything but a good experience. It's not high on the list for decor or ambiance, but if you are craving Mexican for pretty cheap, this is a perfect option.

During peak times Broadway can get busy as it's a major thoroughfare and leads right into downtown Denver. Within the neighborhood itself though, traffic has never seemed to be an issue to me and the neighborhood has a nice, quiet appeal. The homes here are all priced below Colorado averages, but are a good size for a typical sized family.
Pros
  • good parks & a nice lake
  • good schools
Cons
  • can look run down in some areas along Broadway
