Parkchester
"Nice Planned Community"
This is a huge planned community which stands taller than the surrounding neighborhoods (as housing projects tend to do), and which was originally intended for middle class families, much like Peter Cooper Village (which was developed by the same insurance company). This is a nice neighborhood with all of the usual amenities (schools, transportation, churches, shopping centers, a hospital), if you can get into the program and if you don’t mind a bit of a commute down into the city. There are over a hundred buildings that make up this community, and it can actually be seen from an aerial perspective, as the buildings are so much taller than the surrounding neighborhoods.

It is a "nice planned community", I wonder however, why the community sidewalks aren't as well paved and clean as Peter Cooper Village?

Another point is Parkchester is not a "housing project" as neither is Peter Cooper Village. It would be great to have a few small restaurants that have "homemade" Italian food and perhaps a Health Food Store as it did years ago. Lots of conveniences in Parkchester Condos....
