South Bayshore Dr
"South Bayshore Dr. Miami"
Hospital nearby provides good closure. Water front properties, but some difficulty getting to the water in this crowded area is suspected. Nice street, loud but nice. Good place for visitors to stay. During my visit I stayed with a friend who has lived there for quite sometime and seems to enjoy it. I would recommend staying here.

"Nice scenic drive"
South Miami Avenue becomes South Bayshore Drive south of Mercy Avenue and continues along the bay south to Coconut Grove. It is a very nice drive which offers glimpses of the Bay, along with a bike path. Pedestrian traffic can be heavy during the weekends, especially around Kennedy Park. Raccoons can be seen crossing the road at night. Bayshore Drive is lined with many examples of South Florida vegetation. At the end of Bayshore Dr is McFarlane Rd, on which you can walk to the Ritzy Street of Mayfair shopping mall for some upscale retail therapy.

South Bayshore Dr
"By the bay in Coconut Grove"
Bayshore Drive runs along the Biscayne Bay waterfront in Coconut Grove from Peacock Park (in the heart of the Grove) to the Rickenbacker Causeway. Because of the many marinas, public access to the waterfront is limited. It's hard to even get a view of the bay in Coconut Grove, but some access is available at Peacock Park and at the municpal boat ramp. Waterfront dining is available at the Chart House restaurant (highbrow), Scotty's landing (lowbrow), and Monty's (middle-brow). There's a lot of pedestrian activity, especially on the weekends. There is a bicycle trail that parallels the road.
