"Very Subdued Downtown"
Sebastopol is probably the most appealing town in Western Sonoma County. With proximity to both the coast and Wine Country, and a low-key, no-frills downtown area, this town has far more appeal than its busier neighbor up north (Santa Rosa). South Main Street certainly is the downtown main drag and has its fair share of cafes, restaurants, and even a used book store (which is probably the most telling of what this downtown area looks like).
There is no air of snobbery, but you do get a bit of the pseudo-country-bumpkin-hipster West County feel. Don't drive through here around rush hour unless you plan on sitting in traffic - there is one turn on 116 that is particularly tough. Nice place, overall.
