"THE high end shopping street"

All of this area in Beverly Hills has a ton of shopping and eateries. Most of them are quite high end (Saks, Barney's, etc are all on Wilshire about a block away). But, Rodeo is the spot that spearheaded this whole area and is the most notable for bank breaking shops. I have a weird love - hate for Rodeo and all of the surrounding streets. On the one hand, it always appears to be just a little sunnier in this area. Maybe that's because there aren't as many trees. Or, maybe money makes things sunny. I don't know. But, it's kind of hard to feel bad around here. On the other hand, most of the people who do actually shop and dine on Rodeo are atrocious. A lot of them are every cliche that you would hold about Beverly Hills snobs. And, that can be rather off putting if you are just trying to have lunch.
I used to get my hair done at Salon Maxime (before my hair lady went to Sally Hershberger) and it is definitely an intense place. It's weird being a young person that isn't a millionaire getting your hair done on Rodeo Drive . . because that's exactly what most of the women were in the salon: old, rich and stuffy. After the salon, they walk a block up and shop at Dior, Chanel, Bulgari. You name it, and it's probably on Rodeo if it's a big designer.
There's a massive Tiffany at Two Rodeo Drive and that is essentially where the only restaurants on Rodeo proper are located. Two Rodeo divides the street and makes the area look like a little European alley. It's actually very quaint but even the cafes are insanely expensive in this alley.
Rodeo is crazy because it's actually only three blocks long and is one of the most famous shopping areas in the world. And, they pack a lot of really high end stores into that little three blocks. But, even if you don't own your own island, you can still enjoy the street. It's a completely different world and the shops really are beautiful.

"Have you got the money?"

If you come here for shopping, then you better have a bank account the size of a whale. With the exception of food, picture throwing away at least half of your income if you decide to go on a shopping spree here. That is, if you are a normal hard-working middle class citizen. Otherwise, its a beautiful street full of bustling tourism and sightseeing. The sightseeing consists of looking at window booths of extremely overpriced pieces of cloth.Enjoy!
