"A nice street with some great neighbors"
We have friends who live on Ventura Way and although I haven't been over to see them in about nine months, I have always liked the street they live on. They live near the northern end of the street near S Uravan Street, very close to the Hampden Run Park. This street is quiet and many of the neighbors are very friendly and look out for one another. There are several police officers who live here, which always makes the neighborhood seem much safer. Although this neighborhood is surrounded by busy streets, the noise and traffic don't seem to reach inside.
One drawback to this street is that it has a pretty good incline to it and during the winters you can find yourself sliding down on the ice. The city doesn't seem to be too concerned about snow removal here, which lends to the problem.
South Ventura Way is located very close to grocery shopping and more than a few restaurants. A short drive down E Hampden Avenue and you can find yourself by the tollway for easy access to the airport or connecting to I-70. This would be a good street to live on for someone who works nearby or works out at the airport. The schools these kids go to are in the Cherry Creek School District which is noted for both academics and athletics.
