"Typical urban street, so-so neighborhood."
Story Avenue runs through the Soundview and Castle Hill sections of the Bronx. It's just off the Bruckner which is good for hitting the highway, and a few bus routes run on it or cross it (Bx #5, Bx #36, etc.). You wont' find many restaurants other than fast food chains, but there is a shopping mall where Story Ave meets White Plains Rd. There's a supermarket, a few apparel shops, Toys R US and other typical strip mall type stores like nail salons, tax prep places, fitness/weight loss centers, etc. The bulk of Story Ave is residential, there's a housing project on a few blocks and some other apartment buildings. There's a playground on the corner of Thieriot and a few schools nearby. Not and ideal neighborhood because of the people who live there, but it's ok.
