"The crowded loop"
Stuy Loop South is the southern tip of the Stuy Town Residential Complex. This is the loop where all the action is happening which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you like. It's not as tranquil and there's a lot more traffic as it borders the very busy 14th street and serves as the main entrance to the complex. 14th is pretty dirty around here and there's some sketchy people the further east you go, but it's not a bad street. It's just loud and dirty. And, because this is the most popular area for the Stuy Town complex, the units around here tend to be a bit more expensive.
The pros of living off of Stuy South are of the convenience variety. If you live close to 1st Ave, you're right next to the L train and a lot of bus stops. And, you're on the border of the East Village so there are about a thousand bars, restaurants and theaters within a three block walk. This area is more for the movers and shakers.
If I were going to live in Stuy Town, I would want to live around the South loop because I like convenience to fun and transportation and I don't worry much about trash, homeless people or noise. But, older people and people with kids probably wouldn't like this loop.
