"A welcome change to SFO..."
Living on the Peninsula, I am fortunate enough to have the choice between SFO and San Jose International Airport. This has to be one of the easiest airports I have ever navigated. It is easy to get to (about 20 minutes from the 101 in Palo Alto), and has just about the fasted check-in and security process I have ever seen. I made it from my house to my gate in 35 minutes on a Friday afternoon during rush hour.
There are several decent dining spots right past security, including a Mexican Cafe and a Martini Bar (in the U.S. Airways terminal...)
It is also relatively easy to drive to/navigate, although the signs on the highway could be a little bit more well-indicated.
