"Pretty much the only decent neighborhood in the bronx."
You know you are looking at an unreliable site when Morris Park is considered better and safer than Throggs Neck. Honestly? i hate the bronx, it's just ghetto people everywhere (most of it) and i'm more of a Manhattan and Brooklyn type of person BUT Throggs Neck is acceptable. It's nice, quiet, affordable, several schools nearby, nice restaurants only downside is transportation.Only options you got here is 2 local buses that take you to the 6 train or further into the bronx and the express Bmx9 bus that takes you straight to manhattan. Overall it's a nice place and in my opinion it's the only neighborhood in the bronx that doesn't suck.

"One of the best neighborhoods in NYC"
I am surprised Throggs Neck is not rated higher on this list. It is extremely safe, quiet, and a great place to raise children. Even with all of these plusses, it is also very affordable, especially when compared to Country Club, which is right next door. There are a number of nice restaurants that have opened up in the past few years, and more seem to be opening its doors in Throggs Neck. The transportation is a little lacking, with no quick access to subways (the Westchester Square station is a 20 minute bus ride away) but the Midtown bus is accessible throughout the neighborhood.
