Upas St
"Quiet street, and a little dead-looking"
This street seems like it's dead and boring. It is a few streets away from the happening part of the Hillcrest area of San Diego, but the houses appear small and run-down. The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts have their headquarters close by, too, so in the summer there is a lot of traffic early in the mornings and late in the afternoons because of camp that occurs on and off those sites. Generally, there is a little bit of street parking, the street is a little narrow. The people seemed friendly but didn't really speak up to anyone walking by. It's in a neighborhood that has people supporting the gay community, so there are flags and posters up on peoples' houses.
It's very close to Balboa park, which has a lot of things to do. There is the zoo, museums, places to just relax outside, and also is close to highways and downtown. It's a quiet area, compared to a few streets over, which is close to downtown.
