Is Upper East Side in New York City a good place to live for singles?

No. The demographic is older and either retired or with a family. It's a pretty stuffy neighborhood and there is nothing to write home about as far as the restaurant and bar scene is concerned. I would probably live in any other neighborhood (aside from midtown) as far as the singles scene is concerned.
