What is parking like in Upper East Side, New York City?

Parking is a nightmare almost anywhere in Manhattan. Most people rent space in a parking garage if they keep a car which is pretty pricey. It's hard to find parking and traffic (both car and foot) makes it hard to actually park once you find the spot. Plus, it's not the smartest thing to leave your car on the street overnight (theft). Most parts of the Upper East Side are pretty traffic heavy, so while it's not as bad as downtown, it's definitely less than ideal.
